Hello everyone! I just want to start off by thanking all of you for the kind words and well wishes, it truly means a lot to me, as this has been the toughest situation I have had to deal with in my life. Currently I am doing really well compaired to the day I had my accident. I am currently at sunnybrook hospital recovering from my 13 hour facial surgery. Basically what happened is I was struck by another motorcycle doing a high speed wheelie, his bike hit me right in my left eye. Shattering my eye socket and pushing my upper jaw bone back into my face. Also broke my radiator spraying hot water onto my left arm burning it pretty good. I'm happy to say that the great team of plastic surgeons here at sunnybrook have told my my surgery went very well, and my recovery seems to be going really well. Even though they have told me it was one of the worst facial fractures they have ever dealt with. So anyways they cut the top of my head open, removed all the broken pieces of bone and loose brain matter. Then replaced my left eye socket and upper jaw with titanium replacements. They also harvested some muscle from my left leg to use to fix my face. Then pulled my face back over and used 50+ staples to close my head again.
I'm still in quite a bit of pain and discomfrort as the swelling goes down, but I am so happy to be alive and in good hands here in Canada! To be honest for the first few days I thought I was going to be blind in my left eyes and facially disfigured.
Now I'd like to straighten up some of the bad info I have been reading and hearing about over the internet. For one Jamaica hospital did pretty much nothing to help me besides stitch my eye with about 20 stitches and cause me and my family a lot of strees! I was charged $1000 for those stitches before they would release my stuff to my friends! And the only thing that saved me is my family and good friends who I truly love and owe a lot!
You might hear, read, or see some video of Jamaica taking credit for saving my life and I'll tell you right now thats complete crap! My friends and family putting up $27,000 for an emergency flight back to Toronto for the surgery is what saved if not my live, but at least my vision and stunning good looks.
So anyways I just want to thank all of you again! And especially my good friend Shane, my sister ksenija and her husband David, my mother and father, my 2 other sisters, all of my friends and anyone else I'm missing. It's good to be alive and I love you all! THANK YOU ALL!
