Get out there and vote!

Why are the liberals scary for nukes? I figured they would blank cheque anything.

Del Duca is pro SMR's which is good but also wants to import power from Quebec, which would be a threat to new nuclear development. In the last election Wynne was against extending the life of Pickering, then changed her mind right before the election. Still a sore spot.

Doug gets along well with OPG and BP, always doing eachother favors.

Lehman and Downey are within 100 votes with ~13,000 each. 30% of the stations remaining to report. That's damn close.

Big smiles. Del Duca lost his seat by 20% (~54% to 34%).

EDIT:
Within 2 votes now with over 14,000 each. Unless something strange happens in the last 20% of polls I would be shocked if this doesn't get recounted.

Highways are critical to unlocking opportunities and improving productivity for the province.

It's kinda hard to move car parts and the minerals used to make batteries around using public transit.
Highways do have their place. I agree.

But we need a system to relieve our existing overburdened highways. And until we solve that, we should not try to create more highways that will add more stress on the existing infrastructure.

"Build it and they will come" doesn't just apply to other types of infrastructure. If the new proposed hwy gets built, you are driving (pun intended) more people to choose their car as primary method of transportation, especially if there are no alternatives available or planned...

Add more cars to that highway and those new commuters will end up on the 410, 400, 404, 427,401, etc... and those highways don't need more traffic.
I mean, you see where it's gonna be built, there isn't much employment "up there" currently compared what we find along the 401 or down in the core.

If we don't make it a priority now, we will spend a decade regretting it, and another decade planning to fix it as population explodes in that area, when we could've done it now, with a tiny bit more foresight. In the end it's our taxpayer money paying for this $ 10B + project. And our kids taxes paying to fix it.

Interesting cp24.com is still showing 56/67 but now the votes are 14,578/14,605 for lib/con.

EDIT:
Now 56/67 14,955/15,305. Not really sure how the numbers keep sliding. You would think that a poll that reported was in the numbers and for the numbers to change you need another poll to report. Polls should have more than a few hundred people per station (~100k voters/67 polls*57% turnout=~850 votes per poll.

Do that math again... 100k voters and it looks like 35k votes will be counted ... 35% turnout, pathetic.

Downey has a 600+ lead with 1 pole left. It's his unless a revountbis required - one poll can't swing a 60 vote lead.

I was going off turnout last election. I agree, 35% turnout is embarassing.

EDIT:
Liberals failed to get 12 seats so they are once again not an official party. Serves them right for trying to run Team Corruption again. If they had done a purge before the election they could have argued that they had wiped off the stink and would have done much better.

Ewww, Wong-Tam got in. So did Michael Ford. Probably wins for Toronto but not for the province.
