Last year there were speed traps in that area, noticed any of those this time?
Yes. Just passed through Hockley an hour ago.

OPP on the east end near Hwy 10 had someone (purple Audi) pulled over just as it went from 50-70.

Took FOTC again today but from the west, and was nice except for the tourist in front of me.

Kids loved it, wife didn’t. But we figure it’ll be a nice detour on the way to the cottage.

Packed them all up and had a nice leftovers thanksgiving lunch up here. Had to do something with the kids, and cottage works out well on a beautiful day like today.

Almost hit a rider that decided she doesn’t need to look right as she enters a main road….only left for incoming traffic. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nope

edit: just saw mimico_polak's post. That spot, especially near the school, is a prime radar spot. I never speed through there.

We went through in the cage on the way back from Judy's in Brisbane (Great turkey lunch). We swung nroth through Erin, down through Cataract and down Mississaga Road. Lots of hikers parked on side roads but traffic was OK until we hit FOTC Road just east of Belfountain.

Going east was fine but westbound was bumper to bumper with lots of new traffic coming in from Hurontario.

Colours were good.

Effing hell hwy 10 was busy southbound coming home. And it looked like a stupidly long lineup to exit onto 10 from FOTC…

Never again. Never ever.
That was another part of my Sunday experience.

Now I did pick a bad day to visit, but also FOTC has changed since I've been there last (it has been a hot minute). On that stretch of road just west of the hairpin, the shoulder is completely coned off with no parking signs everywhere and an OPP auxiliary officer is standing by to presumably enforce it. Also it looks like the "cafe" where I remember bikes parking has hot dogs now and I coulda gone for one, but that wasn't gonna happen at the time.

Another fun experience was 410 south merging onto to 403... I feel like Google Maps didn't warn me at all of the gridlock. At least it seems like the TL1000S manages to stay just barely cool enough in stop and go

Having the shoulders coned off "no parking" is NIMBY "get off my lawn" local residents applying pressure to city council. I understand it, on a weekend like this - "keep moving, people" - but for it to be all year like this ...

I agree 100%. How the eff are these residents able to block off scenic / public areas so no one but them can access it?

The residents just don’t want the poors around because ‘we paid good money and want to keep strangers out’.

Ridiculous.

And who picks up the tab for all the officers sitting around? They’re OPP so I assume the entire province instead of the people that want to keep the poors out.

the residents of that area are spoiled rich liberal brats.

"stop the sprawl!" "Stop the sewage plant!" "Stop the highway!"

Like half a million people come to the country every year, where you expect them to live?

Gonna need more housing/highways/sewage plants.

FWIW when I crawled through town, it seemed like they were mostly auxiliary

Most yes but I’m pretty sure I saw a few actual OPP officers. But not sure.

Regardless. They should remove all the pylons. I also like how every single road is closed to anything but local traffic.

You're not fully retired until you don't know or care what day it is.
Most days I have no clue what the actual day of the week it is. Retirement is six Saturdays and a Sunday. But before a ride I need to remember the day so I can avoid the people trying to escape their over-crowded cities and clog up our open roads. And Tuesdays, I play golf on Tuesdays.:)

Last time I was up there (several weeks ago) Wellington Road 52 was closed past Winston Churchill. I wanted to head across and then North to Erin.
There were no signs up until the giant ROAD CLOSED barrier. I got annoyed, turned around and went back south on Winston Churchill.

Is it still closed?
