Geese!

Put a sprinkler fountain in the pond , keeps algae and moss from forming , geese hate them , look pretty .
Careful leaving out coon food , coyotes eat that too .
Once they nest they are super pests , chase them off now if possible.

Have the fountain, have to wait as pond surface still freezes at night.
Forget about feeding racoons, trade one pest for another... No thanks...
Yes, trying to evict them before they nest, not sure I'll win that war though...

They seem to love Brampton. Must be all the garbage strewn about.

Sadly Geese don't know any better... I feel sorry for geese that choose Brampton...

The thing about bad raccoons is they can be dispatched with impunity. Not so for the problematic Geese.

Do the geese recognize alligators and avoid them or do they know they don't exist up here? Alligator decoy ftw

I think with they , they would be friends and not be scared of them.

I know they don't like muskies.

I've seen muskies hoover up a string of goslings more than once while fishing on Scugog.

I thought about throwing in a muskie but they won't touch the adults and I wouldnt want to wait for the babies. Pond probably gets too warm for the muskie to survive the summer.

They know better. They're scavengers. That's why they're there.

We use rubber coyotes at my boat club by Lake Ontario but they need to be moved daily to fool the geese

Piranhas, would they survive in the pond? Do feathers get stuck in their throats?
Only if the water stay above 80F.

I'm down to two that continue to hang out..
