Gas station discrmination

I believe it is actually written somewhere that you are not allowed to dispense fuel while seated on the bike.
It is also not allowed for a minor to dispense fuel into your car.
Was not seated on the bike and neither was a minor dispensing fuel. May I respectfully ask where is this "somewhere" that you read these rules?
Reason being in future, it will help me better conform to regulations to fill gas. - thanx!

Since you had trouble at Shell, read from Shell.
Page 7 covers children.
Page 11 covers motorcycles. This is how they instruct their employees.
BTW, I've had the same pre-authorized credit card problem myself with my car. Does that make it gas station discrimination for me too?

Thank you for the reference.
I have also had a similar issue while filling up my car and 100% of the time this was due to a dirty card reader.
In this case the outside pre-auth went through but from inside, the attendant refused to release the trigger for the gas to flow and wanted me to hand over the card for swipe inside.
That has never ever happened to me while filling gas in my car.
Which reinforces the surmise of the possibility of "skimming" that others have shared on this thread or it could be just a case of just not liking motorcyclists due to some previous incident.

I think this topic has been beaten to death and everyone is entitled to their opinion - please read the facts and decide.
Cheers!

So if I minor is low on gas they have to go a full service station? First I've heard of that.

I don't recall ever having issues paying at the pump on my bike. At least not any more so than in my car. Then again, I get off the bike because that makes way more sense to me.

Times change; when I was a minor we never even heard of a self serve gas station,
but you might have seen 15 y.o. kids pumping fuel, checking oil and cleaning windshields to make some money.
... child labour was a real thing in the olden days :|

I started working at 12.

The attendant trying to skim your card like Brian suggests is a farm more likely cause vs any "discrimination" against riders.

Perhaps they figured rider on shiny motorcycle more likely to have more disposable income = bigger bank account balance = better target.
JOKES ON THEM, i can't afford to buy a 2nd car. That's why i have a motorcycle
