Garmin GPS

Most of the GPS u guys mentioned seem to be topographical GPS, are they going to provide road routing???

The Garmin 60cx ships with a north america basemap, autoroutes with follow road or offroad. Faster time or shorter distance. The eTrex Vista is almost identical in operation and appearance but for smaller form factor, screen and controls.

I loaded CityNavigator 2010 into mine, headed down to Salem VA and came within ten metres of the waypoint I'd plotted on Cold Knob in West Virginia.

You said budget, you can always go with a Garmin Oregon or Dakota instead.

budget... well you will want to make sure the device you buy comes with the maps rather than spending more money for city maps...

I don't know what you want to spend but the 1490lmt (lifetime maps and traffic) is on sale for $200 (down from 270) and will hold multiple routes http://www.gpscity.ca/garmin-nuvi-1490-lmt.html
often you can get additional discounts from gpscity (like for chatting they give an additional 5% off or something like that)

Anybody happen to know how to view GPX files or even View Routes that you created using Mapsource?
I am using my nuvi 250

Thanks

if you REALLY want to use a GPS to the fullest

it has everything you'll ever need , remembers everyplace you go....when i come home and plug it in

it down loads and puts everything on google earth for me......soooo cool

truly the best....and built for real life!!!!

basically,,,,the more you spend.....the easier it is
