Awesome! Now. Next step is to replace those Yamaha pumpkin turn signals! Mama Yamaha was still putting these 90s-era things on 2019 bikes. Eesh. Lol

Nope, the pumpkins are staying...the rear lights were changed by the original owner, but we both like the idea of being seen...not a fan of those itty bitty ones and even less so of the flush mounted ones...

Agreed. I’m not a fan of itty bitty signals or flush mounts either. Yamaha sells some nice LED signals that are plug and play and are actually brighter than the pumpkins...but hey, to each their own!

@robertv19 if they're plug and play from Yamaha, then maybe we'll look into them...thanks for the heads up! :D

Edit: just went to Yammie's website under lighting for accessories and didn't see any?...do you happen to have an item number or a link?...all I see are fog lights, a headlight, a tail and a bunch of mounts...

@ifiddles
These are the ones I had on my Tracer 900. I had the dealer install them - so when I said plug and play - that was probably misleading and depends on mechanical inclination. They worked well though. I know it says “rear” but they are the same either front or rear. If the FZ6 already has the signals on as daytime running lights, you lose that functionality with these - which defeats the visibility preference.

Congrats.

Ticks won't catch him on that.

Congrats, very nice. I agree with you about the pumpkins, stay visible! Hmm, Stay Visible is the name of a Simple Minds song.

Good timing too as the season begins...seems a long weekend to the twists near Coudersport PA would be a nice near term goal reachable in a few hours.

I have them on my fz8, front and back and I really like them. Very discrete when not on but much brighter than the pumpkins when flashing.

I added a blinker genie so the fronts retain the running light function.

Congrats! I loved mine

That looks very similar if not identical (except for colour) the FZ6 I had.
Wind noise was awful though. The windshield dumps the air right in your face. Some went the bigger shield route but I followed the advice of a smart fellow who recommended cutting3-4 inches off the top. Worked like a charm.
Oh and the seat turns to granite after one hour. Luckily a hank of soiled sheep skin doesn't do much to detract from it's looks.

Good bike - I rode it to James Bay. That said I never thought it was particularly good looking bike. And after a while having to spool it up to north of 10K kind of wears on you.

@timtune we don't go particularly fast, nor for extremely long days either...he had an FZ1 which he traded for the Honda CTX1300...I tried telling him he wouldn't like the Honda and not get rid of the FZ1, but he's very stubborn...hopefully this will keep him happy... :unsure:
