Wow so the Diesel is good for petrol bikes.....I'm gonna try this one...as I see allot of good word on this oil.

Just out of curiosity if the Diesel oil is rated as JAS-MA and good for petrol bikes why doesn't Shell put this on the label at the front, especially were they have the silhouettes of the vehicles why not put a motorbike as well, and since this oil is almost a steal against the regular synthetic oil putting the picture and explicitly stated that "This oil is approved for Japanese Petrol Motorcycles", they would be tapping into a another market.

I'm sure there are a large amount of riders who would change to this oil if they only knew. I only found this by this thread, and motorcycle stores are not encouraging this by not carrying this oil as well.

I just find this kinda strange why Shell is almost not pushing this after they got there rating, considering the price of this on Sale or at US Walmart the oil is half price of the regular bike synthetic oils.

Because they can make a specific moto oil and charge more for it

correction
Because they put a sticker on it calling it moto oil and charge much more for it.
They would make a killing if they had a "Italian" bike formulation...lol

It's also good for pretty much any turbo'd car or almost any other car for that matter. It's just oil. Doesn't really matter what they say it's for (ie diesel) as long as it meets the right specs.

Manual for my Aprilia actually recommends AGIP fluids (Azienda Generale Italiana Petroli—General Italian Oil Company), "or equivalent". Think I've seen that stuff for sale in like one store, ever.

So does my Aprilia. But I've run T6 and AMS Oil 100% Diesel oil in the bike with no issues.

Hi All, I have a 2012 Kawasaki ER6n that I'm almost finished breaking in. I'm planning to switch Rotella T6. My question is the Manual calls for 10w40 rather than 5W40. Any harm in using 5W40?

I wasn't saying I use it. Just that it pretty much recommends Italian bike oil. I thought it was funny. Mine's a 2 stroke so I won't be using diesel oil in it, anyway. Well... unless it happens to be good for the transmission. Then I'd think about it.

No.

Not on sale yet (nothing on their website)

I use it in both bikes (fz6 and my yz250f).

My motor guy who is very experienced and one of the very few I trust runs it in all his race bikes. For the price it can't be beat, considering we change oil every 3 hours or less. Mx bikes run pretty hot, take a lot more clutch abuse than any other bike and have a relatively small amount of oil for something that spins at 14,000rpm. If its good enough for that, it's just fine for your typical street bike usage.

Just a heads up for you guys in the West, closest store to me is the Caledonia & Eglinton location. They only had 0w40 in stock, an employee checked their on hand stock for 5w40 (which said 3) but no where to be found.

The closest store to that location was the Weston & 401, which showed they have 14. Now 13 since I bought a jug :)
