when you show up and the bike looks unclean, run. those of us that love their bikes would never let it get to that stage. everyone has a different take on mint, perfect, showroom. a clean bike is a great start.

In the case of sportbikes, it frequently means a major collision that necessitated the replacement of the gauge cluster. This tends to be shown fairly easily though, if a UVIP is pulled.
Not true! What if somebody bought a bike with 10k on it rode it and sold it with lets say 25 k on it, then this guy rides it till it gets to 50k but right before he sells it puts an odo on it with 29k? Looks legit on all fronts.
+1... I don't understand why people negotiate if they have no intention to buy, must get an adrenaline rush or something?
I would of walked away as soon as I found out the difference in KM's between the advertised KM's and the actual KM's showing.

It is how he operates. He has done it before, even to the point he left a deposit according to one of his posts here, then changes his mind and demanded his deposit back.
For a serious rush, i like to show up at auctions.. bid on items... then bolt!!

You may have walked cuz the kms, but i wasnt to put off by that, i wanted to check out out further and wasnt happy after all. !
Do you realize what kind of sprocket change would be required to increase the mileage like he claimed?
he says it has 29k on it, i sold it 2 years ago with 38k on it.
Might be a typo, he pressed a 2 instead of a 3 and some how only road the bike 1 km lol in the last 3 years.
I did the same. Guy showed up on a Friday night to check the bike over and offered to put down a deposit. I told him to keep the deposit and come back with the full negotiated price. The bike would still be for sale in the meantime. He was back first thing Saturday morning with a certified cheque.kids and bikes dont mix, finances are tight. i sold recently and never took a deposit that way i always had the hammer. the first guy who rushed in with the asking price got his toy.
So, how is someone supposed to protect themselves from these types of scenarios, especially when the person is willing to lie through their teeth about the bike they're selling; even more so when most aren't willing to let you test ride?
