I care enough to just beat my previous km's from a full tank...
19ish Litre full tank with about 250ish kms available ....

Plus i have no low fuel light indication so I do look at my kms like a hawk
 
^ Regular rules, especially for long distance touring. There are places where you can't find premium fuel for hundreds of Km and carrying "octane booster" is a pain. The facts that it means the engine is under-stressed/over-engineered and the fuel is cheaper are fringe benefits, IMO.
