Front fairing stay fix

Looking at fixing a bent fairing / meter stay.
Mid 80's construction... looks possibly like mild steel round and square tubing.

Going to build a jig to keep all solid and bend the parts back into shape.

My questions are how hot do I need to get the metal before I try to bend it back into shape?
Will a small Mapp gas or propane torch do the job?
Will bending it with heat still make the end repair brittle?

Any suggestions or insight would be great.

Is it possible to bend the stays cold? That would be bette than heating.

use a propane torch for about a minute on the area thats bent and use a steady amount of light pressure ( 2 or 3 ) attempts to get it where you want it.

Great! Thanks for the tips.
I think I have a small propane torch somewhere... but I may also pick up a Mapp torch too, just in case the metal is thicker than I think it is.
Hope to give it a go before I store the bikes... if I screw it up completely, I'll get a replacement from abroad over the winter.

From past experience, rebending metal cold multiple times has either ended in cracks or a complete snap.

Curious, would this be on a gamma?
Not on my gamma... on my tzr.
