Frickin' Parking Ticket

I always get to work early and I always park on a quiet side street. Parking is from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and I've never had a problem, been parked as early as 6:30 some days.
Little blue bastard must have been hiding around the corner, ticket was issued about 3 minutes after I walked away from my bike. $30.00:(
Yes, I was outside the posted hours, yes I was aware and yes, completely my responsibility.
Still ticks me off, though.

Try getting a parking ticket in your own driveway.... My bumper was slightly on the sidewalk and I got a $35 ticket in Oakville. (I live on a really quiet street as well)

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago, OP.
Permit required until 7am, ticket time is 6:51am.

I'm going to try the 'waiting game' prescribed here: http://www.ticketcombat.com/
Maybe I'll get lost in the shuffle - can't get worse than the $30 unless you actually try to fight it.

Got my first parking ticket ever a few months ago, 7 minutes after 12:00. My own fault I lost track of time. Wont do it again any time soon, lol.

I'll let you know the results. I received TWO, not one but TWO, $250 parking tickets at Fairview Mall for parking in a 'fire route'. The first one is already past the 75 days, just waiting on the court date and see what the judge has to say.

Yikes! Brutal.
Yes, please do let us know how it goes.

Well, that may have been better than getting your ride punted by a 20 tonne fire truck.

Fight ALLLLLLL parking tickets. Anything under $100 get lost in the system since it's cost more to process, convict, and charge you. Even then you can get a reduction and delayed payment method. If you get summoned to court. Dont go and take the conviction. YOu already got the ticket so nothing really losted.

I've been fighting every ticket l get at lunch time, and havent since one court date except a stupid $450 no loading zone. Watch out for that one :(

How big was the fire?

Seriously, I stopped going to a shopping mall because they thought nothing of the danger of people parking in the fire route.
Place I go now has a tow-truck on standby around the back. No soup for you! No waiting game either.

I just got my $450 handicap spot (the street type between 2 posted signs) ticket reduced to $100 along with someone else in the same courtroom. The other guy pleaded student poverty and I said I didn't see the signs due to darkness, rain and overhanging branches (truth). Most of these set fines are way overpriced so they always get reduced to a more reasonable amount.

This judge was the most lenient one I've encountered, he even reduced a $30 fine down to $5.

Go and speak to the adjudicator, it may be worth the trip. Even he was annoyed at a couple ridiculous tickets I'd gotten on my own street and said he'd throw them out. No fee.

double that, fight them "ALLLL" especially if you are bilingual, request a translator you'll never see a summon.cost more than what the ticket wroth to convict,i have never seen one summon yet. even on some HTA offence fight it,sometimes they can't get a translator in court for you and case dismiss :D

Just pretend, then pick a really obscure language. Learn how to say Yes, No, Please, Thank You, Not Guilty and you'll be fine! LOL

p.s i parked at Yorkdale the same way and no problems, even spoke to a few cops regarding that issue

Yea Silvercity. A lady actually told me about the ticket and I just laughed and threw it out. It's funny because they pretty much wait for you. As soon as you leave your bike there, even for 5 minutes, they would have a ticket on it already. If I win these parking ticket cases, which hopefully I should, I'm going to park on the island every single time. I'll actually wait for him to tell me to move it and I'll say no and he can give me a ticket on the spot and I'll throw it out as well.

I know I am not supposed to park my motorcycle on the sidewalk in Toronto, but I always thought it was never enforced. I got a $50 ticket just behind the Varsity Theatre on Bloor. There were about 30 bicycles and a few scooters parked and I parked next to them, obstructing nothing at all. As I was leaving, another guy had just parked his Harley next to me until I showed him my ticket. He said he never saw a ticket for this in 20 years. I said me neither….
