French M/C Protest

LET’S ALL GIVE A MASSIVE ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO THE FFMC AND ALL THE BIKERS IN FRANCE FOR THEIR DETERMINATION TO STAND UP AGAINST THEIR GOVERNMENT !

and sheeple of ontario bend over for fantino

Good show.

If they were in Canada the cops would've beaten the bikers silly and thrown them in jail. Officer bubbles would've been there too.

Giant burnout with 10k riders would've been epic.

They have both the numbers and the attitude. Over here we really like to bend over and ask for more.

No lube either.

But everyone... think of the children!!!

That's absolutely amazing at how large of a group they got.
Cheers to them! I hope the message they are trying to get across gets heard properly by their government.

France has a good history for that kind of stuff, and the culture to go with it. Canada's still new and working on both.

Not working very hard by the looks of it

yep.. I always remember hearing all about the French farmers complaining about NZ Sheep imports..

They have a good history of using unions....but...the police also have stop and search powers (I have experience of that)...and a history of bad behaviour (I have experience of that too). Not every country is a paradise although I really do like France.

That is true.. And also they have some serious anti-net neutrality policies down there. Still, government can generally get away with less since they know that people over there will get out, protest and wreck stuff if they try to sneak real b.s. through.

I can see this going down here:

- Protest starts 11AM Sharp
- Protest delayed because half the ride slept in and forgot to get gas first.
- 25% of people will not show up because "The weather network told me it was going to rain"
- We would lose half the ride leaving the parking lot at whatever Timmy's we chose to congregate in and since the route will not have been posted for fear of police interference, no one will know where we are going.
- Sport bikes guys will ***** about having to ride with cruisers in a big straight line. They will split off and go do Snake Road instead.
- Cruiser guys will ***** about having to ride with sportbikes. They will not wave to anyone.
- Arrive at Queen's Park and have 5 angry bikers screaming in impotence.

Power to the people!

This will never happen here because motorcycling is moreless a hobby in Canada (for the usual reasons), whereas, in France, 2-wheels is a popular form of commuting transportation. It is more mainstream, so by that alone their numbers are much larger, and there is a larger pool of people to come out for an event such as this.

...and that's the real reason why. Cars and gas are so expensive in Europe and parking is such a nightmare that many people have a bike as their only means of transport. Anything that affects their transport method has a big impact on their lives.

I was in Paris back in October. They're motorcycle scene makes anything in North America look lame.

Most of urban Italy and Spain is the same way. When a light goes from red to green, it's like a swarm of bees at every intersection (2-wheelers are allowed to filter). Old, young, male, female, scoots, exotics, you name it...

I have to say there was something very sexy about a woman in a sundress riding a scooter to work in the morning.
