I have beening riding for +32 years, do all work on my bike.
Lately i have been seeing posts regarding fairly basic bike maintenance items( most items found in your owners manual) and to a lot of people its seems like black magic to them!

This is for new riders with new/ new to them bikes.

If your are a new rider and need help drop me a email, or drop by my place and i will go over the basics.

FREE!
No i am not looking for a date, a friend, or a riding buddy ( i ride alone to get away)

I DO NOT DO REPAIRS.( but will give advice) Wiil do chain adjustments etc!
I am not a shop.
Just paying forward.

i'll meet you at Tims/ Mickey D's (Harmony/ Taunton) if you buy the coffee!

Clean cut happily married guy who restores bikes ( no chain drive wallet no jailhouse tats, just a guy who knows his sh**t, i own everything from a HD, a supermoto, trials to a gsxr)

Bring your boyfriend, girlfriend, mom, dad, whatever makes you more comfortable.

Happy riding

Gerry. (harmony north)

you sir, are exactly what the toronto scene needs, someone to help bring forward the bike community. ill keep you in mind!

Very generous of you gerry, I'm happy to see posts like this on gtam.

Fyi, there was problem with the forum a little while back and a lot of old posts got deleted during the fix. As a result, a lot of people's post counts were reduced.

ok, first thanks for the heads up onthe deleted posts, was starting to take it personally!
Thanks again for the encouragement.
Have gotten a few questions, so i think its worthwhile.

Feel free to BUMP!

BUMP!

Paul nuked alot of the old posts (and our post counts) fixing the forum awhile ago.

I would be happy to offer the same as Gerry is offering for riders around the highpark/oldmill area of Toronto. I do try and answer questions on here but sometimes in person answers work better. More so when its a bunch of little things.

Been riding 18+ years, happily married engineer. Same conditions as Gerry, I DO NOT DO REPAIRS (but will give advice), I am not a shop, even if I do all my own work. A cranky old man was kind enough to answer all my n00b questions when I started riding, figure I should pay it forward. We can meet at Coffee Tree or another caffeine providing establishment.

Just send me a PM

you guys are so awesome! I have a kawasaki ninja250 and just got my m2 and riding my bike....and i've encountered quite a bit of questions since i started riding the kawi250 that it makes me wonder how i passed the m2 LOL!!
...how far west would you be willing to go?? i live in mississauga...but i haven't ventured too far just yet until i get more confident with high traffic so wanted to see how far i can go to meet you at least somewhat halfway...????

And thanks Wikeke!

Bump.

Gerry bought an rd350 off me a few years back and I'd PM'd him a 'good job' for creating this thread. Turns out he'd fully restored the RD and wanted to check out a project I've got on the go (and I wanted to see my old bike).

He came by today - the RD is stunning - true flashback to '82 showroom condition. We chatted for a good hour about bikes/life/etc. Real good guy, certainly knows his stuff.
