Fort McMurray Smoke

Noticeable in the way the sun looks at sunrise and sunset, too. And the sky isn't as blue. Varies from one day to the next, depending on prevailing winds.

Here is a shot of the moon ladt rotation

Given the recurrence, I would probably work out a good system. Something like an intentionally imbalanced HRV with a 5" pleated filter on the intake air to positively pressurize the house slightly. Ideally enough that even with a bathroom fan running you were still positive. That should drastically reduce the crap that gets in.

Daughter in Fort Mac has started walking the dogs late eve , early am . Doesn’t help the smog but you feel better not seeing it .
I was supposed to be up there this month , I can wait .

Should help lumber prices once we burn down a million acres of wood .

Your "help" and mine are not the same.

This is from the forest fires in BC? Or are there some in Alberta now?

Alberta had 100 individual fires last week ,they had three days of rain that helped . Military was called in to assist . The areas burnt are thousands of hectares.
Now starts problem #2 with elk deer and bears wandering out of the burn zones into communities.

Fort Chippewa, the next town north of Ft Mac is being evacuated, it’s a fly in/out and has about 10,000 people ? That won’t be expensive…..

I haven't heard much media about Ontario but the map I saw was all yellow and red risk zones with a tiny fringe of green in the far north west.

Completely forgot how big a boat you can get up to Ft Chippewa , since it was originally a Hudson Bay post , that makes sense . Hope it’s not as ugly as the Ft Mac fire was , or Slave lake . Wishing them all a happy out come .
