Yeah a case for a dual sport tho I regularly wander the dirt roads on the Burgman which is decent on them as long as not wet or deep gravel.
There are some reallllllly nice roads in the area and does add to the fun to explore off the pavement.

Yeah, sometimes the gravel is just a bit too deep. I (unknowingly) ventured onto a less friendly road over the weekend. Not much in the way of exposed hard pack, so the Burg did a wiggly dance the whole way. Thought I would dump it for sure. Relaxed my grip, remembered to breathe and let it wander a bit. The other sections (including a lazy, unsigned road repair near home) were a breeze in comparison.

Yes - there is nothing difficult on the entire route at sight seeing speed EXCEPT the hairpin going downhill inner lane east bound.

The only similar hairpin is Appleby by Rattlesnake downhill and both are subject to straying cadgers.

I can't give you much tip other than a little feathering on the rear brake usually makes a hairpin a bit easier.

Uphill on the other lane is much easier tho once past the hairpin going west bound don't gun it as the turn at the top is off camber and can have traffic coming. I'd enter from HWY 10 on a quiet time and run it carefully the first time. It's a nice little bit of road aside from the hairpin.

The blind, uphill right hander, immediately west of the hairpin, can also be difficult for inexperienced riders. The tightness of the corner and the camber change are rough on them.

There are no big chain type coffee shops in Creemore, but there are a couple of nice cafes. Affairs Bakery and Cafe is quite good and there are a couple of other places in town where you could find some food and a coffee. You could also check out the Creemore Springs Brewery, should that be your interest.

Okay, thanks :)

^ That sounds suspiciously like the gravel portion of the Grange Sideroad between Creditview and McLaughlin - or possibly McLaren near the junction with Grange. I've been through there in my car and wouldn't want to try it with a motorcycle with street tires. I suspect that the (very rich) horse community around there wants to keep it that way.

Looking at the map, I'm not sure, but I think it was McLaren Rd, specifically the dogleg bit that runs between The Grange and Forks of the Credit.

If you're coming as far as Creemore, roll a little further north near Nottawa, and check out "Pretty River Rd", definitely worth the extra distance. We usually work it in on the way to Eugenia Falls.
Jeremy

Thanks for that tip - I like the Eugenia run but usually do it by general direction nav - "oh that looks cool" - nice to have a destination included.

Yeah the wife and I generally pick a basic direction and go from there! Lots of times we never arrive where we were headed, but we always have a great ride! The run through pretty river valley is very scenic, but also very twisty. One of my favorites.

Cool link Have to try that motowhere program. Thanks !!!!!!
Thanks for the input everyone.
For anyone interested-
New map created- cuts out boring stuff before River Rd, added the Riverside Drive/Dunedin detour (thanks Malks), and shortened it up a little near the end.
Map now starts at the Forks and winds back and forth through most of the popular motorcycle roads in the region- ending up in Shelburne. Really nice ride if you have a few hours to spare.

Great route thanks! I had the afternoon free and went for a bit! Did most of the route (until past creemore) and really enjoyed it before turning back to go home . Will def do hat ride again!

Think I will do this today at a leisurely pace. Have not looked but did you include The Grange Road jus south of The Forks and to the east. As that's a nice addition and then go north on any one of the smaller roads.

Ah yes see you got that - good stuff.

Roomer has it sound checks and tikkets being written.......

Dead up here at the Forks since it was pouring for a while but sun coming out and ride up everything smell nice and fresh and lots of daylight left.

Might head over to St. Jacobs for a late pig out of Amish food. :D
