fork internal cleaning

I took my forks apart and want to clean the internals as best I can. What kind of cleaner have you used in the past to clean the internals? Was thinking brake cleaner but wasn't sure.

clean dry rag.

solvents might break down the bushings and leave residue behind.

Nick! I use Simple Green. Not only cleans the parts, also makes them smell like you've been feeding the bike Clorets, lol. Also safe on bushings.
