Florida - What to do?

The cruise bug hit me. I love royal Caribbean but was talked into trying celebrity.

I'm going on celebrity reflections 2014.

Then royal Caribbean quantum of the seas 2015.

Yeah I got bit a few years back, but my bug was Norwegian it seems. We've done quite a few NCL's, Just got off the Breakaway. Thinking of trying a Royal or a Celebrity. It's hard to give up that freestyle cruising though.

What's free styling cruising? I've never tried Norwegian nor carnival but I'm sure I'll eventually go.

Freestyle cruising is what NCL does, it just means no fixed schedules for dining or shows. Go when and as often as you like. You don't have to sit with other people or have the same waiter. The ship we were just on had something like 14 places to eat that were all different. Just picked which ever when ever.

Works good for us along with the ultimate beverage package. I never know what time i'll awake from my afternoon stupor so I don't like fixed dining times.

Holland America and others are moving to this concept. We had open seating for the "formal" dining room from 5-9, wander in and sit with others or alone. We met some very interesting people and some idiots, but thats travel. And they may have thought the same about us.

Of course there are the other dozen buffets and dining areas if your peckish at 4am or 2pm.

i would never go on a cruise... f that chit, not my thing.

Wake up in a new port and see a new place nearly every day?
Visit mulitiple countries with no passport/visa issues?
Always know where you bed for the night is? and your baggage
World class cuisine? great wine lists
Drink, suntan, go ashore and site see?
Meet new people, often from varied global locals

I have trouble finding downsides, I've been on many, but its not for everybody.

As much as I love cruising I can fully understand why some people wouldn't like it. Being on a schedule isn't for everyone. For me it's the value and going to places I would never think of visiting.

We've done Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and now Princess.

They all have good things and bad things about them.

I found the freestyle was overrated. Kids could go down and get pizza in the early a.m. on R.C. and there always seemed to be some free restaurants open.

RC was massive ships full of families. Ports seemed like a plague of locusts arrived and devoured everything in sight. They had the ability to bully smaller ships as well.

Princess was much more intimate, mostly older wealthier couples. We were coupled up at our dinner table with four other people (You don't have to do that, but it's a good way to make friends onboard). One of the couples was from our town and the other was from LA. We hit it off wonderfully, and have kept in contact since.

NCL was somewhat in between the other two.
Less old people and less young children.

Edit: My brother says the zip line on RC is overrated as well. We really enjoyed the flowrider though.

Back on topic:

We visited Everglades National Park and GatorWorld while we were there. Took an Air boat ride.

Exactly why I dont like it! I wanna do what i wanna do when i wanna do it. Plus I have heard alot of horror stories of stuff that happens on a cruise ship, and the cleanliness factor. Diff stroke for every folk, but I would rather fly somewhere and explore or drive if i can.

The food alone is worth it. Bump for more ideas
