Fixing a bike that has been dropped

OP, if the seller told you it was from a drop

WALK AWAY

it's clearly a low side.

if it was a drop the scratches would generally go from top to bottom (vertical)

lowsides because it slide on the road, goes horizontally. much like the pictures you showed.

if he said it was a drop he was lying about it, and it makes you wonder what else can he be lying about.

btw on that second link if it's 5500 for 07 with 6000km and it's in mint condition that is a steal, go buy it right now lol

The ground bolt is going to be a hassle unless you get someone pro to take it out (drill it out, etc. without damaging the threads).

The case will leak more oil every time you ride when it gets hot. I would recommend changing the cover as you don't want oil spots everywhere on your driveway (and checking oil levels every few weeks). If you do it yourself, do not skimp on getting a new gasket.

For future reference, a frame slider would probably have absorbed most of that damage (Except the crank cover).

Avoid the damaged bike. You want to be enjoying the ride as a new rider not fixing a bike you don't know enough about.

"drop" is a lose term. To some, it means just fell over, others, it means low-sided.

Most low-sides cause some aesthetic issues, broken pegs, levers, no big deal to fix, and no reason to write-off a bike, if you know the costs involved.

Bent frames cannot be repaired in most cases.
