Did 815k in the PA and home area between 8 am and 4 am. Feel not too bad considering a good chunk of that was twisties - did 515 during the day riding the various good roads around Coudersport and then took a 5 hour break and ran home ahead of the rain at midnight.
Fantastic mileage for the last stretch with a big tailwind - got just under 25 km per litre!!! Never have seen it up that high on this Burgman 650. Hit that a few times on my 2005.
The tailwind really made it a relaxing ride as well as cheap - hey $15 in gas and $3 at the border. Only tough spots were over the skyways - the last one in small Tstorm - as the wind was mostly sideways to them - then straight downwind home from Burlington tho got wet the last 10k.
Just a good reminder of WHY I left a midnight.
Neck is a bit sore but beyond that feel okay.
Figured two good days of riding in and only 4 hours from home ahead of the rain was worth it.
Got my motel refund too - Paul's Motel in Coudersport - good people and great location.
I enjoy riding at night - there was a full moon most of the way home - only concern was just out of Coudersport was pretty remote and deer an issue but the lights are good on the Burgman and I was cruising slow - 70-90km most of the way until I hit the 4 lane version of 16 into Buffalo.
I'll rank this one up there with the 1,000 km days to The James Bay road as it was so little slab.
I get a long one under my belt and feel okay the next day and the BRP beckons ...sigh.
US twisties sure are fun and 44/144 in PA world class.
OP now you've got a long one under your belt put Coudersport on the radar and you'll love the area - there are a number of threads in the Touring section. It's a popular destination.
