Fender Eliminator Kit

Hey guys how's it going. I purchased my first bike 1 month ago and have been riding for 3 weeks now. I'm looking into a fender eliminator kit for my 2010 kawasaki 250 and I was wondering if anyone has done this before and wether or not this is a good/bad idea. And if you have done this mod before, which kit on the market is good to purchase.

Thank you :P

Plenty do it but I would advise not to if you ride in the rain unless you like brown colored stripes down the middle of your back.

For a 250r I would save your money. Not sure what your plans are but you might end up upgrading in a year or two. Most people that buy from you if/when you decide to sell would like it stock.

Oh man that sucks, cause for some reason mother nature and I don't seem to get along and we have our rough times like were're married. I get caught in rain and I don't want a landing strip on my corona leather coat. But it seems like an enjoyable mod/project.

:D

I have a kit for sale if you like, it came with my exhaust.
I personally hate the ugly fender that comes stock, so I decided to get an eliminator. Gives your bike a clean look and how often are you riding in the rain anyways? I was going to ride to work this morning but it was raining so I drove.
Pm me if you want me to sent you pictures of the eliminator that came with my exhaust.
And if you end up upgrading, you can always put your stock back on. I have my stock fender that I can reconnect anytime.

Wow

Is there any gear to prevent this backslash mess?

You dont have to worry about this at all. You still have quite a bit of covergae by the tail section alone. Infact the Kawi rear fender makes no diffference at all on rear spray to the rider.

Maybe the Kawi isn't as bad but I've been on rides with other fender eliminated bikes where the problem was bad.

I don't know about other bikes, but the ninja had no problems spraying water with the fender off.

I had these two things done to mine.

Projekt D fender eliminator

and for an even more clean look I removed the signals and got the integrated light from CUSTOM LED

The brakes and signal lights were brighter than the stock ones, and the fact that the signal lights were integrated in one unit close together, didn't seem to bother any of the many officers who were behind me in the year I was riding the bike day or night.

Someone should say this so it might as well be me.....it's probably not a good idea to make yourself LESS visible to others by integrating signals into tail lights or using micro turn signals. Some people have a hard enough job of seeing us as it is.

Advantage

- Nice clean look
- Free 407 if placed low enough :D

Disadvantage

- cops harassing you if its too low/hidden
- plate gets more dirty (can be an advantage too)

How was the installation for the Projekt D fender elim? Was it straight forward is in it was plug and play or did you have to get a little creative with your installation like most mods turn out?

Another disadvantage: It won't certify, if the mechanic actually goes by the rules. Obviously only an issue at point of sale.

I got one from Targa, the installation was relatively simple it comes with a small LED license plate light.DSC02581.jpgDSC02580.jpg

If anyone is looking for one for the CBR250. Get the Yoshimura. All metal construction, $115 shipped from biohazard cycles in Florida. I looked at Targa, Hot Bodies, they look like cheap plastic compared to the Yosh. Read the forums, people complain about the hot bodies and the targa plastic parts cracking and stuff.

It's a mother effer to install (mostly due to vague instructions, but I've done it once (about 3 hours first attempt) with no bolts left over. I could do it faster if I did it again so if anyone ever wants help with one let me know.

I got it installed in under 20 minutes and that was doing both the fender eliminator and the taillight since the bike was already apart. The reason I went with projekt d is that they offer the no rear signal or the stock signal option all in one kit... that way if I had issues with the police or resertification when I sell it, I can have the problem fixed without wasting money on another kit.

Jc100 I can honestly say that the custom led taillight is twice as bright as the stock one.
