Interesting read. I'm sure with the money he has he can get a good lawyer & get away scotch free

Sent from my tablet using my paws

He has over $80M worth of bitcoin stashed away encrypted and hidden. Dude is set... if he can make it liquid.

Go big or go home I guess! So if the money he made is all 'virtual currency' does he actually have any money? Or is he broke now? Especially if they seized all his accounts.

It doesn't matter about the funds. They will use the RICO *sp and or wire fraud to get him because he engaged in illegal activities using the phone lines and networks.

I don't get it, why don't these guys quit at say $5 million. Go to some island or country that you can disappear and enjoy your life.

Didn't you watch "Breaking Bad??"
And I quote:
There's money on the streets waiting for somebody to scoop it up

You're raking in millions easily
Its never enough for these guys

They didn't seize his funds they seized silk road users funds.

This guy personally has $80M worth stashed away. And since its a decentralized digital currency they won't ever be able to find or seize it. What he has to do is figure out a way to sell it while locked up.

That's a tv show and it shows their greed took them down.
It is stupid for someone that is half smart to believe that when you are trafficking in MILLIONS of $$$ that the US government will not come for you or some rival gang finds you and kills you for cutting in on their business.

Considering he was attempting to hire undercover agents to do the hits, I'd say he had limited success.

The article read like a movie, crazy that's real!

If he was using a Gmail account, actually in his own name, from his fav overpriced cafe a block away from his house, and soliciting undercover agents online for a hit on another guy that was threatening to blackmail him, because he used his own name online......I wouldn't call him a "mastermind".

Stories like this about guys apparently that bright make think I got into the wrong business. Crap.

Oh yeah, and trolling other forums advertising yours as a great place to score generally isn't a great way to stay under the radar.

and I loved the online haggling "Don’t want to be a pain here, but the price seems high. Not long ago, I had a clean hit done for $80k. Are the prices you quoted the best you can do?"

lol
