Hi guys, I'm trying to plan a fall trip and because of life things lining up, I'm worried it's getting pushed later than I'd usually like. I found the last week of September to be a great time for a trip last year to New Hampshire. It wasn't quite peak foliage, but the weather was well balanced.
I'm wondering if any of you guys have experience with the mountains around West Virginia, Kentucky, and Virginia in Fall. Whenabouts is the foliage worth seeing? Does it get super chilly and wet around the 2nd week of October? I'm currently thinking from October 9th to the 18th. I don't mind a bit of rain and cold, but a whole trip's worth might be a bit much. I also worry about deer more than anything else that time of year.
Thanks for any thoughts!
