I felt such a sense of relief, of joy when Verstappen's car started smoking

Sainz has nowhere to go , lol , he’s just weighing the offers right now .

Nice to see Sainz win, especially with nowhere to go next year.

Read the tea leaves.

• Audi announced last week that they are purchasing a 100% stake in the Sauber ('26 Audi) F1 team, up from their original 50%

• The CEO of Sauber is former McLaren Team Principal Andres Sedis - left McLaren to build/run the future Audi team

• Sainz Jr. raced for Sedis at McLaren for 2 years

• Sainz Sr. drove in Dakar for VW for 6 years and for Audi in an e-tron entry for the last 3 years.

• Sanz Sr. is an advisor to Jr's manager Carlo Onorio and sits in on contract negotiations.

The scan is not bad given the age.

Meanwhile in the real world the Max show continues. Does anyone have a link to watch the races ( pay to view okay ).

We use the F1 app. Multiple devices, I share it with my daughter. Races and Qualifying have the Sky1 announcers too. $99 CAD per year.

A race course that doesn't allow passing isn't ideal no matter how much history it has.
It's a parade now. Telling drivers to go slower because there is no point being close to the car ahead does not have good optics, not create excitement for your race.

I think it would have been better if talks had fallen through and Monaco was lost to history.

Monaco race is worth hundreds of millions. f1 is a business . It’s not going anywhere soon .

And the cars will be shorter/narrower/lighter after '25, which should improve the show a bit.

At least before the MGU-H era the cars were entertaining to listen to go down the straight and through the tunnel. And occasionally one of the drivers would lose their mind at the prospect of circling around for an hour and try something really stupid. I guess the real problem with this is one is that we cashed in the stupid way too early

That was a great race. I don't usually watch F1 but it was a ****** weather day at the trailer and CGP came in with an amazing signal. Very entertaining. Still not sure how I fell about DRS and KERS. On one hand it's like somebody thought it would be fun to put some arcadey video game **** into F1 cars. On the other hand it adds extra strategic elements, I guess.

How do you guys feel about those things?
