F1 Thread!!!

OK, reading up on it apparently McLaren had one of the lowest noses of the grid last year so the FIA used their car as a template for the new regulations that were intended to get everyones noses lower for safety's sake.

Obviously, McLaren had no trouble adapting but everyone else did.

This is a terrible blotch on the FIA and the series, and it may result in handing the championship to McLaren or at least raise into doubt the fairness of any success they acheive.

Honestly, it's extremely difficult for the layman to know what affect changes like this will have on the car. Aero is extremely complex. I wouldn't leap to any conclusions based on the appearance of the cars. Some seriously ugly cars have been very fast. Red Bull is once again the front-runner apparently so I'd wait till Melbourne qualifying before making any predictions.

So Lotus quits the Barcelona testing after discovering some "chassis issues" that prevented them from continuing. Test driver Romain Grosjean reported the car "felt funny" at high speeds... Well that's gotta wake you up I suppose.. :)

Just FYI...3days, 4hours, 12mins to first practice... :-D

Go Kimi

I predict Lotus has had to specially modify the tub so that if Kimi's vodka leaks during the race it won't eat through the carbon fibre!! :-D

I read that Kimi says "He won't give a **** about what gets said in the paddock this year." He cared before?!?! :)

Kimi is a cool dude.

For those looking for decent web based news and features, Sky Sports in the UK has got the F1 broadcast rights this year and have some good stuff on their website;

Including Georgie Thompson.

Kimi is a cool dude.

He's the man! I heard that someone asked him what's the first thing he bought when he signed his first big contract..he said indoor plumbing for his parents..hahaha! That's awesome.. :-D

would love to see Kimi snag a podium

Lotus has looked pretty strong in testing. Kimi is certainly a world-class driver (shame he was MIA for a few years but he got paid very very well by Ferrari not to race), so a win is a possibility.

My predictions (car-wise) are

Red Bull
McLaren
Lotus
Ferrari

Suprise team will be Sauber.

Kimi's cool rides

Kimi's got that "what's this piece of crap doing in my garage. I must've been pretty hungover when I bought it." look about him.

Ya he should've had a Porsche
