Eye Candy for RE owners

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing these.

Always thought RE's were cool, retro unqiue looking bikes. (y)

wow, ganesh on a bike

As an owner, I can tell you they make a terrific palette to customize BUT it's very, very easy to exceed the initial purchase price.
Heck, in the motor alone you can drop an 865 kit, hot cam, rods, rekluse clutch, exhaust and aftermarket ECU and you'll get close to 90hp.
Not to mention suspension, tires, and other farkles.
But maybe at that point maybe you should have just bought a Triumph ?

Sure is a difficult choice - do you customize or get ready-made?

Personally I'd take the "custom" route, getting things to suit your individual need vs buying what the mfr thinks is good for you.
The RE platform does make a good base for customization.
(no offence, that is just me )

Yes, exactly, you're buying a plain Jane low tech bike and then spending big bucks to replace cheap components with more expensive better performing ones.

I guess it's all perspective. I look at RE's and Grom's and think, 'Why would you throw good money at those, it makes no sense.'

Then I remember that I am currently building a PC where I am running custom water loops and delidding the processor so I can have direct die contact cooling.

It reminds me of......

It's pouring rain one Saturday and two friends are golfing on a course by a lake. The first golfer turns to his buddy, pointing out into the lake..
Would you look at those idiots out there, fishing in the rain.

Sounds a lot like HD owners.

know anyone locally that can actually do all of that with the 865 kit?

actually i'd be fine with sticking to 650cc but bumping up to 60hp with these mods (still expensive) : link

ahhh nice. i'll enquire about what it would take for just the high comp pistons, headers and cam swap (and then im assuming ecu adjustment or power commander + dyno testing etc etc). it'll probably be a lot $ lol.

im fine with 650cc but wouldnt mind some more HP. the post on that forum says they needed a new clutch but others say they didnt. hmmmm.

First generation had some break, but that got solved pretty quickly. I haven't heard of any issues after 2017.

Got it. Well, say you want about Royal Enfield, but with the invention of that first generation of Himalayan, they innovated the concept of a folding motorcycle :ROFLMAO:
