Explain your garage

Tiger is looking to be a decent all around bike.
I might need an up and back extension for the bars, and a longer pivot arm on the rear brake pedal.
Shoulder is getting sore on longer rides, and my toes hang over the rear brake pedal when the ball of my feet are on the pegs (size 11 1/2 or 12).

The 1970 DMP Trail Champ was my first "bike". Not quite sure what to do with it.

How many Urals are there actually in Toronto? I've seen a Ural about 3 times this season, and wondering if it's the same person lol.

Was it your Ural parked on Bloor at High Park on Monday afternoon?
Wasn't me. Haven't set foot in the city since the Jan show. There are only two in KW. OVC sells all they can get.

FZ09 and YZ250. Would love to get a couple more bikes, one of which would be a cruiser for the longer rides but I don’t have the space for any more.

Not sure if I'd classify my Rebel 500 as a 'cruiser' but for long distance...it was one of the worst bikes for my lower back I've ever been on.

The X was fantastic, the Scrambler is still up in the air as I haven't gone further than 320km in a day.

Sold track bike to get back into dirtbiking.
Miled-out a GSXR1000 and sold it with the intention to buy something similar. Ended up riding the bagger I had at the time more. With no long trips likely on the near horizen bought a Multistrada to be both exciting for a day rip and comfy enough for a tour if it happens. Which then lead to the XR when I after a bunch of miles on the Strada meant a change.

KLR - it's just stupid fun and goes almost anywhere carrying a weeks camping gear
'76 CB750F - it's fun to ride a vintage bike that turns heads
KLX250 - so I can hurt myself in the Ganny
'68 CD125 - so cute I couldn't resist
'72 CB750 project - need something to tinker with
????? - still looking for another 2up touring rig that fits both my Squeeze and my hips
'80 Kawasaki 440 Invader - it's gotta snow sometime

I'm the opposite of utilitarian unless it can stir my soul somehow. The sound & feel has to excite me.

As an example, after riding my new Monster last weekend with both baffles in the Termi, I took the top 1 out again and it's just so much more enjoyable for me that way (both out is too loud).

Sometimes I'll hear a stock sounding sewing machine sounding bike go by and that would not do anything for me.

That's what stays in my garage, anything that makes me want to hop on and go.

I like a bike that fits my frame. I'm tall, therefore a large, tall bike. I don't want to feel like I'm squatting while at a red light.
I also want enough power that, when stuck behind a train of vehicles following a Sunday driver, I can leapfrog past them all in one or two jumps.
Finally, I want luggage to spare. I want to be able to travel with the bike (one day). I also have a habit of running out to get hamburger buns, but walking out with half a cart load of groceries, forgetting that I've brought the bike.

My garage is too small. Three toolboxes, two bikes, and all the yard tool and machines is too much for a 13' x 29' space. I've plans to build a shed in the back corner of my yard to hold the mower, snow blower, rakes, shovels, off-season tires, and other things that crowd my garage. That should free up a LOT of space.

When I built my shed I thought the same thing!

definitely, utilitarian doesnt mean devoid of character

I ride a an '03 Katana 750. I had to build custom mounting hardware since there is pretty much no aftermarket or OEM support for Katana.
Most people don't like the Katana, but with the custom luggage mounts, two 48L side cases and 58L top case, it suits me just fine.

If you're asking what bike are in the garage, the second bike is an '01 Katana 750 that I use for winter riding. It has heated grips, plug for heated visor, and Bark Busters. The mounts are easily transferred, too.

Currently, '08 wr250x with 3 sets of wheels. Sumo and 2x dirt sets.

'07 gsxr600. Was a project. Runs well, but Im not as attached to it as the little wr.

Both bikes are cheap enough to live without. Mechanically sound. Both adequately fulfill a purpose.

Gsxr
Fast
Reasonably comfortable (after mods)
Takes corners well
Loud
Light

Wr
Versatile
Fun
Trail capable
Eats corners (carry all the speed I can...)
Cheap to insure
Light (for a dual sport...)

Whoops, I forgot one.
'09 suzuki dr200
Ex- m1x course bike. It'll be my offroad 'buddy bike'. It was cheap; dead simple, easy to ride, low power, and it takes 21"/18" tires.
Still needs a skid plate, hand guards, and bar risers.
Just spooned on a set of 90/10 offroad tires.
Looks mean! For a DR.
