Explain your garage, why do you have the bikes that you do?

For me personally, I like bikes that are very utilitarian, that do the all around, everyday kind of riding well...
(africa twins, vstroms...etc)

Or bikes that are ridiculous fun(mt09...superduke..etc)

Not a particular fan of 'weapons' or racebikes..(panigales...streetfighter V4s...tuonos...etc)

Was looking for character. Think I found it. And I like the look and sound of my Scrambler. It's def not great for long distance, but I don't have time right now to be pulling full day rides too often.

Car and a 1/2 with a new insulated vinyl door and a side window. Now that I've explained my garage.
I enjoy all motorcycle but recently drawn to HD currently riding a 2022 Pan America Special. I find it very enjoyable, comfortable, and powerful.
To me it is a do "almost" anything bike.

One of each. The limiting factor is the available space in the garage:
  • a big comfortable practical long distance bike
  • a fast fun pretty bike for quick blasts around the countryside
  • a track bike for getting serious
  • a dirt bike
All of them were bought cheap and used, and kept for an extremely long time - decades, in some cases, so it's not a particularly baller list. My guiding principle is "bang for the buck". Like the dirt bike is an old Kawasaki that I paid $2500 for 10 years ago, I think. A shiny new KTM that fills the same role is in the ballpark of $15k. The KTM would be better in every possible way, but would it be 6 times better, or 6 times more fun? No.

The ruckus is her help to get around trials.
The Beta helps me get around trials.
The Ural gets us to parts unknown.

Come one @bigpoppa .... let the cat out of the bag.....

Which one did you trade in now? (again) or are you hinting that you need to build an addition to your garage to store all those "test ride" bikes. lol

For me, my garage is a MESS. I do try to organize it every few weeks and fail miserably. I also try to clean it up enough so my wife can park her car in there for the winter. I seem to only succeed at this every other year.

As for bikes.
After a 11 day East Coast trip on an R6, I realized that I prefer touring over nice looking sport bikes. I then came across a V-Strom and have always wanted one ever since. A 12 year hiatus got in the way.
I finally got back on 2 wheels and had an FZ6. Which I thought would be a good transition bike. Eventually, I found a good looking V-Strom and treated myself.

I generally do like things that more more practical and utilitarian. Although sport bikes do look good but they don't suite my needs. The naked FZ6 also didn't tickle me as much as I thought it would. Now that I have a utilitarian bike that I have wanted, I don't have much time to ride it.

I have yet to try a cruiser or couch on wheels. I'll for old(er) age to try those out.

I think it was a childhood goal. Was at cycle world in scarborough during my high school days. Sat on a CBR929RR and was hooked. Needed a CBR of the same timeframe.

Wanted a 600. My friend had one sitting in his garage for 12 years untouched. Took it off his hands.

Always liked the bobber bike look.

How many Urals are there actually in Toronto? I've seen a Ural about 3 times this season, and wondering if it's the same person lol.

Was it your Ural parked on Bloor at High Park on Monday afternoon?

To answer the question: I have an SV, which is fun for the city, but planning on getting a bigger cruiser for longer cruises with my partner pillion. After a cruiser, I'd love a dual sport or ADV (if affordable) for fun
