exhaust question.

I will trade you a Titanium Two Bros Black Series slip on for it.

It looks great from every angle except from the left side of the bike, looking through the frame/wheel area. I got hit by a guy and it got dented over the swingarm. Insurance replaced it, plus cash, with an Akra full system.

I was planning on using it when I put track bodywork on, and take my Akra pipe off... but if you want to keep it 100% true Two Bros, then you definitely want to hit me up.

Ahah cool man. Ill keep that in mind.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am curious about what can cause a carbon exhaust to turn colour?

Is it better to stay with a stainless exhaust rather than a non-carbon exhaust?

the color change in carbon exhaust is often the resin they use to bond the carbon fiber together, UV light (sunlight) and high heat can affect the coating and it usually goes dull yellowish brownish. Doesn't happen all that often so carbon vs stainless IMHO is a tradeoff in weight and looks. your mileage may vary.

Yup. This Two Bro's is looking terrible lol. The black edition CF might be better tho, the standard one already comes off looking a bit brown, but over time it just gets a whole lot worse.

Hmm Would anyone happen to know if the two bros and graves are the same measurements???

google is not really telling me much

30 seconds of google and you'll have your answer...

Nope. Iv spent a while trying to look up "what is the diameter of yamaha r6 Two brothers exhaust"

and different variations of that question, and all google does is point me to eBay or revzilla or some other websites where I can purchase the exhaust lol

is it the vale with m2 canister?

Here's an interesting bit straight from two bros:

Carbon Fiber Mufflers:
Always make sure the fiberglass packing inside is in
good condition and not burned out, as exhaust heat inside an empty canister
will deteriorate the Carbon Fiber sleeve. TBR sells repack kits (TBR part # 005-
10038) that include new rivets and repack material as well as a drill bit (#30),
making it easy to do yourself. Also, NEVER dyno test your bike with carbon
fiber mufflers installed - the intense heat and lack of cooling air can quickly
cause the CF material to burn. Two Brothers Racing does not provide a warranty
for burned carbon fiber.

So the way it works. The muffler attaches to S bend, which than attaches to 2-1 collector?

And what I need is to find out the measurement of the S bend to figure out if the Graves slip on can attach to it as well?

I dont know much about bikes yet, I need an adult!!

Hmm, so are you suppose to re-pack the cf canisters often?

Thats like asking whats the best oil to use around here lol

But it would explain your exhaust turning a funky color.

Since this is your first bike my advice to you would be leave it alone and just ride it man. Odds are at some point it will be scraped/scratched anyways and you'll just have wasted your money if you replace it now.

This is a true point. knock on wood that it wont happen tho.

I just cant stand the funky color of this exhaust, Im like OCD wen it comes down to my car and bike LOL

URIKA!! I finally found it!

Surprisingly of all the websites and Google readings, Revzilla was the only website to list the product details.

  • Small, vertical, oval canister (4.85"H x 3.75"W) is available with an aluminum high-polish finish, black carb
on fiber (filament wound) or natural titanium matte-grey color
  • 2.25" stainless steel, power core

Hmm... assuming that both Two bro and Graves slip on is meant to direct bolt onto OEM.

If the Two Bro slip on is the same canister you get with the full system, that means both the slip on and full system comes with a 2.25" pipe

That means both Two Bro's and Graves should both be 2.25"?

Or is that not even relevant? and doesnt make sense?

But they may not bolt on in the same area. The headers may be different lengths.

Cool. I was emailing Graves and asking them if their slip on diameter would fit with Twobros system. Long story short... apparently the Graves is less than 2" and TwoBros is apparently 2.25"

They gave me 15% off on the full system if I want to order it :)

I would consider doing it. I was highly considering going Graves, but decided to get the Akrapovic instead, just due to convenience. Well, if you're going to ride on the track. Then you can keep one nice.
