How would anyone attempt to verify this?

Is this really a selling feature?

Lets say you looked in the for sale section and saw a bike that was supposedly ridden by a certain AMA Rider, but you know that the person... that SHE didn't even ride that manufacturer of bike, let alone that specific frame... would that be weird??

Lookin at a Myers or Paris bike? If it's not an obvious connection I'd probably steer clear.

I just saw the 675, and it said Myers on it..... I was like uhhhh, google image search and I'd forgotten, she actually WON that year on the Suzuki.

Either way, a simple click right here will tell you it was no Triumph Daytona 675.

hold on to those pitchforks just yet.

and if you use your same search and add the word 'triumph' you get different image results. like this: here

"After a great couple of race weekends with Triumph and the Sportbike Track Time team at Daytona and Road America, I’m so happy to officially be a part of the Triumph family,” said Elena. “Everyone at Triumph has been so awesome to work with, and I can't say enough about the bike. I'm really looking forward to continuing to develop this bike and to get the 2013 675R on the podium." July 2, 2013

yeah but that is 1 year afterwards.... in 2013.

The article you quoted was from June this year.. good find though, got one of my eyebrows up. :)

Also the image search, take a look at the first picture.... She is sitting on a GSXR.

although Casacrow's post is starting to make a little more sense now.. :)

Hey, the more images of Elena, the merrier :D

I just wanted to point out that it's not all doom and gloom and the poster has been on GTAM a while, so not like a 'made yesterday, one post account'. Benefit of the doubt and all that jazz.

But more importantly, more pictures!

I did know it was a long time member that is why I didn't make any specific mentioning..
Not interested in buying it.

Sorry hit send by mistake.

After the conversing here I am sure it probably is legit. I just thought that they were saying the 2012 bike was the one they were selling.

Nice pic :)

I can vouch for the seller and the builder.I rode Triumph's in the WERA endurance series with the Builder's son in 2009

When I bought my bike the seller told me it was an ex race bike... I had no idea who the rider he named was and didnt care, all the gucci parts were on it and it ran, thats all that mattered.

the idea is: if that bike was good and sorted well enough for a champion, its good enough for a mere mortal.

Whether you can ride it at the same level as that champion is a different story altogether.

Does it matter? If money wasn't an issue, would you rather have a bike put together and ran by goggles600rr or Jodi Christie?

In the end, I buy what I can afford and what I like
