Ever had your new to you bike scare the pants of you?

Had that today dicking around in my buddy's underground garage with my Daytona. Laid it down (literally, it was one of those no-speed situations) after making a lazy corner. Found a THICK layer of garage dust all over both tires and damp conditions were contributing factors. Didn't think much of it, had her picked back up in seconds and started riding again. Then I had a "YEEHAW" moment when that 675 Triple kicked in...whoah. Now I'm not gonna say that the bike intimidates me...but wow I was not ready for that BOOM of power despite riding a few 600s lately. Rocketing at a concrete wall when you weren't ready for it is fun times lol, I'm just glad I didn't grab front brake. All I know for sure is I'm not riding her without full gear now

Anyone else ever had that after moving up? Thoughts on this ridiculous motor that torques like a Twin and bangs out power?

Have been on a bws 125 for a bit, just got back on a VFR...surprised me a bit.

Yeah, first unintentional wheelie on the cbr600rr was a real eye opener. Good times.

ZX10R. 'Nuff said!

I 'got used to' riding a 1000cc Superbike. I think it would take something extraordinary to startle me now.... I've ridden some 600cc bikes (a 675 among them) and they make pretty boring street bikes.

Wasn't my bike but the big Monster is a wheelie machine! Can hardly keep.the front end down if you are the sligtest bit aggressive on the throttle.

I don't wheelie well so its not a pretty picture!

First time I rode lawnmower powered minibike straight at fence. Scary.

Close quarters, like undergrounds, always exaggerates the sense of speed (eg. MX 450 on trails) because you can't see to far ahead and sides. One could literally do 160km/h on prairies, but for wind, feels like ahunnert.

My first time on the McBain SBK. ~190whp and a 16/45 sprocket combination in 2 degree (yes, April 5) weather at Shannonville. To say I was pussyfooting it would be an understatement.

Now I'm goading her on out of corners. Power corrupts.

When I switched from the fz6r to the r6 I almost ate the back of a pick up truck. The fz6r wasn't uber responsive so you could really ham-fist the throttle on downshifts. I was coming off the 400 to get gas and 'blipped' the throttle and the thing just took off on me. That's when I learned the difference between a sport tour and a SS.

Went from a GS500F to a GSXR-750. I was curious to see what would happen if I snapped the throttle open like I did on the GS500F. I didn't drop the bike...but I scared myself ******** lol

I tried a friend's Ninja 250r and that scared me so I think I might go to the CBR125.

When I started out on a 250 I accidentally popped the clutch and the front lifted onto on coming traffic. Life flashed before my eyes, but then it came down....and that is why I don't regret starting out on a 250.

It's all relative. I've had the big red 9 slide 30 degrees off center from tire spin in 4th gear (various places), wheelie on the long straight at Bogie in sixth gear and step out on the throttle through corner one at around 210 (estimated) in fifth at Bogie as well. But without moving vans and SUVs as cross-traffic, just keep the throttle on and shake your head... which is why the track rules.

I "downgraded" to a VF500F for a while to free up money. Then I went from that to a ZX-11 ... just going around the neighbourhood had me giggling stupid. Then I took it on the highway for the first time and it peeled my face off accidentally.

While I never had any acceleration scares with my 250 (shocker), I definitely mistook 1st gear for 2nd when downshifting much more quickly than I was stopping, in the wet. Must have been my 3rd or 4th ride, the back spinning made me poop my pants. I adore that little thing, it's damn near idiot proof :P.
