Ever feel overlooked at work?

Not surprising and very unfortunate. Comes in on a Friday morning, on a day when hybrid offices are mainly empty, and same goes for Monday.

Tuesday is busier so someone saw her.

At one job we had a guy dropped dead in between equipment and someone saw him after 30min as he was in a remote area of the site.

My FIFO job a guy had a stroke and didn’t show up for roll call morning shift. Cleaners found him in his room and he survived and came back after a few months. Roll call was at 6am, they found him at lunch time during their cleaning run.

New rule came in that if someone misses roll call their supervisor immediately goes to their dorm room to check on them.

Unfortunately another guy died on site in the lunch room, after lunch…another 30min before someone found him.

Something like that almost happened at my old workplace.

We had a co-op student who was working late on a Friday evening. He's not good at taking his insulin shots and fell into a diabetic coma.

Fortunately, cleaning staff were there doing their pre-weekend clean (they don't come in Sat/Sun), found him unresponsive and called 911.

If he had had his diabetic incident *after* the cleaners finished, we would have found him dead at his desk on Monday morning.
