Not sure if this counts, but we cancelled the Bell TV and phone today.
Weird part is that we might actually be paying a dollar more without them.
The woman I cancelled with, didn't seem to have the same information on her screen that I did, or that I was told when I signed up.
We had problems with both the TV and the telephone. I guess the guy who put it in was a sub-contractor and didn't have enough time to do it the way I wanted. They basically swapped our landline for an internet phone, and changed the number. For the TV I was told that we'd get certain channels with old movies, and all they put in was a standard package, which we ended up watching little at first, and none later on. The input wire from the outside was too short to put it where I wanted it, so it ended up at the front corner of the house. Since the TV is at the opposite corner, the wireless receiver sometimes had difficulty connecting to it. I found that I could record programs, but had intermittent problems playing them back. After phone calls, I did manage to get our number back, but now we realize that the only people who call, are a friend who we can switch to cell, and some debt collectors, looking for the previous owners of our number.
I'm going to see if we can argue with them for the $15 internet promo discount that they promised us when we signed up.
They now say that it shows as part of the Mult-service promo, on their screens. If that's the case I'll be shopping for a new provider.
Do any other providers have Gigabit for around $100?
TLDR: Cut some ties with Bell, they're being difficult. Looking at other high-speed Internet providers.
