I had a similar issue with the placement of the LED bulb black-box and ended up snipping the black-box connectors and re-soldering the same connectors with longer wires. This gave me more flexibility in location. The black-box is not very big and with the longer wires you can put it on a frame rail or under the tank or behind the cowling. I used zip ties and even velcro will do it.

With regard to the beam spread, if the lens and/or reflector is designed for a halogen bulb then in most cases the LED bulb in the stock headlamp will not have the same projected spread. Yes, it will be brighter but the pattern and cut-off will have a lesser area of illumination.

That one has the driver circuit built into the main enclosure, yours probably has it inside that separate box, which is the way most of them are.

They will not work correctly without a current-regulated power supply.
