Electric Lawn Mower?

I have a neighbour who tries very hard ( unsuccessfully lately) to not blow his snow onto my driveway. There’s a lawn between that used to be eight feet wide, but he widened his driveway with gravel a couple of feet to park a third car. I blow my snow to the side away from him, and shovel the rest to either side. He has both a single and dual stage Honda that he blows to whichever side is closer. I hate confrontation. Not sure what to do about it.

I've been getting away with a Snowjoe corded snowthrower for close to a decade, it's on it's last legs but still working. Had to cut the plastic open last week to access the electric motor brushes/rotor as it wasn't firing. Gave it a good scuff with some emery cloth and duct taped the plastic back on. Works great now! 😁

As much of a PITA the corded unit is, it still beats shovelling. Pushing > lifting
Plus, it makes shorter piles of snow as it disperses it much more efficiently than shovelling does

Hopefully the last big snowfall(s) of the year!

Does yours sound like a skil saw? I was surprised at how loud some of the corded blowers are. I guess I shouldn't be as they just throw in the cheapest 10-15A universal motor they can get (which may also be used in skil saws).

Next time he is out clearing the driveway get out there and do yours. If you see his snow coming over your way it's relatively easy to ask him to blow it the other way then than to knock on his door to ask the same thing.

If that doesn't work, just post his address and one of us will whack him for you.

Above aside, my 35 year old Craftsman 29" 10 HP has been doing a great job over the last few weeks. Can't beat the size and power when you really need it.

Yep it's got quite the whirring sound. Most likely some run of the mill 10/15A electric motor like you mentioned that they purposely enclosed so it wasn't serviceable.

A healthy spray of WD40 on the chute and auger before each use and it throws snow pretty good! Anything wet though I'd better get the shovel ready...

Like this one? If you need to replace it and are close to Orangeville you can have this one for $50.

Mine is about the same sound level as the Ryobi battery mower, other than the grunt when it hits deeper snow.

Pretty much this other than last legs. We have a Kobalt corded electric one and we had no issues with this snow fall and we have very little in the way of snowbanks as it spreads it out more.

The secrete to using these lighter duty machines is to not let it get too high. Start closest to the outlet and work out, cord is zero issue...
