I know I'm a bit late to the party but +1 for the Sony ereader
Love my ereader... I still read the occasional paper book but it's getting less and less.
I went with a Sony and use Calibre to manage my library. I got the Sony because it handles a lot of formats (excl. mobi but with Calibre that's not an issue) and doesn't seem to be as picky about proper formatting - I've been able to read books my buddy with his Kobo was unable to open. I also like it because it doesn't try and box you in to a particular reseller like a Kindle or Kobo.
Whatever ereader you go with I can't overemphasize Calibre as the software of choice to manage it. I've tried a few different ereader/library managers out but I always come back to Calibre. It has a bit of a Windows95 vibe to it but it's truly the best ereader manager out there. As a general rule the software that comes with the ereader isn't typically very good (Sony is no exception).
Happy ereading...
Cheers,
Daryl
