Eating out

When family or friends come from out of town and we are going out to eat where to go is always a debate for us, we are paying. IMO we should go to something higher end that they don't typically have at home but that always results in all the Toronto is so expensive cliche (or small portion, blah, blah). Or we can go to a local pub or a chain that is similar or the same as they have at home with the same prices, same food volume, which results in the Toronto is just like home comments.

We do have a few places that are different and low cost...

Between vegetarians, lactose intolerant, garlic allergies , and just old people , I’m surprised we ever eat anywhere with our family . Better Italian fits our group . Real Italian not American Italian , but hard to find anymore. And good is not cheap .

So the diner says to the waitress "I'm vegan, allergic to gluten and don't drink. What do you recommend?"

Waitress: A taxi.

Ah yes, we'll bring a nice plate of ice cubes right out for you.

@GVH[/USER] , I was in the J&J a week ago and saw the gluten free day . I was surprised how popular it was .
Tonites dinner was the Sultan of Ahmet , beside homo depot off BurlOak . So tasty , fresh and mostly healthy choices , Turkish menu which I like , and no liquor license so saved about fifty bucks there .
Kid #one is in town for a couple days so it’s only healthy choices …. I’m cool with that
