Earplugs with audio?

Thanks.

I'll try riding with the phone in my jacket first and see how that works out.. If it doesn't, I'll consider the RAM mount. I would just hate wires getting tangled accidentally :S

Having headphones connected to the phone while on the RAM mount was not user friendly at all, they were blowing all over the place - I only tried this onc just to see if/how it would work. Like I said I had it connected to my Autocom unit which was tucked in under the seat. I now have the SENA SMH10 which works really well.

I used to use something like this for snowboarding.

Headphone Extension Cord w/ Volume

It's great, because you can have your device somewhere safe and dry in your jacket, your headphones under your helmet, and just have this sticking out of your jacket somewhere (mine hung just below the waist and I ran it through a belt loop). I used the roller on it as full volume = on and no volume = off, and controlled the actual volume with my device.

Now you can enable/disable audio easily without anything expensive or complicated to play/pause. It works with everything, and it's easy to use even with gloves on.

I just use regular earplugs, don't like music/phone/intercom while riding. Guess I'm just not good at multitasking.

I always thought listening to earbuds/headphones while riding a motorcycle is dangerous and an all around "no-no"

Correct me if I'm wrong but do a lot of you do this and would you consider it safe?

One of my biggest obstacles to buying a bike would be the lack of music.. but I am considering wearing earbuds.. but would like to know from experienced riders if this is safe with your iphone in your jacket pocket. Obviously I won't be cycling through songs while riding but don't know if having them in will put me in any danger.

Do you listen to the radio when driving a car? What's the difference?

I wear earphones with music all the time. I'm quite able to ride without crashing and to still be aware of my surroundings. and protect my hearing while I'm at it. Why would I not?

It was something like $80 for the molded plugs and $180 with shure headphones in them. I am going to get them this year. I did 20,000 KM this year with no plugs at all. Not great for a already hard of hearing person.

if you find out the company name, would you mind posting it here?
Thanks.

At the motorcycle show there's a company that does custom earplugs and they also have custom earplugs with earphones built in. Not sure if they'll be at the December show and/or January show.

They were there at last year's show in January...they'll be back again next year
