Earbuds that stay in your ears

I rarely listen to music while riding versus audiobooks and podcasts, so sound quality isn't the number one thing for me personally. But I find them pretty decent regardless, although I am far from an audiophile lol
FWIW, I have 425's and 530's. Meh. They may be better but they are far from magic imo.

Interesting. I found that I could keep the volume so incredibly low and still have warm, full sound with the higher end models, where’s the lower end models lacked the frequency range. Back then I was listening to a lot of Drum n Bass while riding with them.

I'm not easily pleased by music systems. I have been spoiled in the past getting to play with stuff I could never afford. I've only ever heard one home system that I thought was magical. It was a two channel system well over 100k. Recently I got my hands on 20+ sets of wireless earbuds (skullcandy, mpow, beats [fit, studio, powerpro], sony, etc). Most were poo. Sony wf1000xm4 were the best sounding of the bunch for me. They are a little big for helmet use.

Somewhere in this thread Evoex suggested plugphones.

I bought a pair and am more than satisfied with them. Like someone else, I like to listen to podcasts, mystery, thriller or scifi radio shows from the 50's and 60's and occasionally music. The plugphones deliver clear sound without cranking up the volume.

Highly recommended.

I'm a fan of Loop Earplugs and see that they've just introduced a new line called Loop Switch that allows 3 different levels of sound reduction. Pricey at $84 CAD so I'll wait for a sale but will get a pair for sure. Loop Switch: 3-in-1 Earplug Sound Control

More likely lacked the dynamic range.
Had to explain to skeptical partner that better is often not louder at all when she questioned my sound bar purchase.

I have the xm3’s. Not sure how they compare to the xm4’s but the sound is quite good. Unfortunately as you noted they’re a bit big for the helmet and get dislodged. Once the helmet is on and they’re in place they’re good.

I have a set of xm3's as well. They need to be repaired before I listen to them so I can't compare them yet. Shape is entirely different between 3 and 4. Sony can suck my nuts for killing the pair if one earbud fails.

Glad they are working out. I think they are easily the best setup going.

Can plugphones still be rolled small to get them into your ears well like using standard foam earplugs?

Do they lose their "roll-ability" quickly like the disposable foam plugs do? As in they rebound too fast to get them into your ears, they lose their slow expanding foam memory is how I would describe it I guess. Especially if they get wet but that is obvious.

They come with 2 sets of memory foam and 2 flanged versions (at least the Liberate 2.0 version i use does).

I find the flanged works better, but the memory foam ones can be rolled then put in your ears and held momentarily while they expand.

Awesome thanks. I have an intercom and earplugs but these look pretty sweet. I've tried wireless noise cancelling earbuds but my helmet just makes them fall out every time. Going to try these.

This is something I need to check out. I use the Cardo 4x JBL in the AGV K6, but my experience with speakers in that helmet has not been good. My ears start to hurt after 2 hours or so. This isn't the case with my older AGV K3SV with a similar setup. Hence, I have been using the K3 more often than not.

These plugfones seem to roll up in ear similar to the foam plugs I use - with the speakers built in. Need to try it out for sure!

I really like them. I have a set of custom fit earplugs that begin to hurt after +/- 1.5 hrs. I guess the shape of my ear canal has changed over the last 3 years? I also have a pair of in-helmet speakers that are limited in performance, and eventually cause discomfort. Earbuds tend to fall out quickly. I must have mutant ears or something.

But the plug phones go in like plain foam, perhaps better and stay in place comfortably period. There are no edges to cause discomfort and the phones themselves fit the ear cavity of the helmet with loads of room to spare. The sound is clear without having to be loud. Battery holds an 8hr charge.

I don't use them for calls as I don't answer the phone when I'm riding so I can't comment on that side of them, but they have been a great purchase for my use.

Guys where can I get them (plugfones) in Canada? Or is the only option ordering from the states?
I've always ordered through Amazon, and it does ship from the US as i recall.
