Durham Region (New Rider/M1 Friendly) Saturday July 14th

Overkill,

Sorry to hear about your bike. Keep us posted on the ride, I am in unless I have to take the day off to built an ark.

It's not as if I own motorcycle group riding in Durham. You guys are free to ride without me. I can't guarantee the newbie friendlynes anymore, mind you.

Even if I was willing to shell out a hundred bucks for a mirror from Kawi they can't get it until Monday or Tuesday. I'll grab a pair of Chinese knock-offs for $25 from ebay and wait for the shipping.

Sounds like a good time, I'm in unless something comes up. If anyone is riding up from Mississauga/Toronto area shoot me a msg we can meet up and ride up together.

-Cheers

Hmmm. I will be in full military gear on my bike to go to the tank museum in Oshawa for their Tank Roll-out event, however since I've done this route before myself, I would help helm this ride if I could. What I will do, however, is join up at 10am to say hi to everyone since it's just down the street. Thus far, the weather is looking to be sunny now for Saturday (woo hoo!)

Looks like we got ourselves a quorum. I am not entirely sure where we are going(looks eastish), what we are going to do when we get there or who the heck I am going with - it just doesn't get any better than that!

Please note, despite the similarities in the name used, I am no relation to the individual so recently departed from our ranks.

So I rigged a splint for my mirror that Red Green would be proud of and I went out to meet the riders. After some convincing by the attendees I bit the bullet and led a shortened version of the ride with a broken rear brake.

firemate's Ural was the hit of the pre-ride show. I know he's itching to have a team of sportbike reindeer pull his sled past it's top speed.

Had an M1 rider on a 600 cruiser, the only female rider on her CBR250, several first time group riders and an assortment of other bikes and experience levels. Went off without a hitch. Thanks to everyone that showed up.

I'll get the brake fixed and hopefully be able to host another one of these in a couple weeks with the wifey on the back.

Awww thanks man! It was awesome to meet all of ya, albeit briefly. And the star of the show was the debate of High Idle on the Yamaha (-;

Hope you all had a great run!

Thanks for hosting! =) Was a good time looking forward to the next one.

-Cheers

Had I been out there this weekend I would have joined in (I have family in Courtice, but live in Scarborough) -- Had to work on an assignment for a course I'm taking. I do that section of the run along lakeshore (Newcastle to Port Hope) pretty much anytime I'm out that ways and want to go on a decent ride.

Thanks for leading overkill! Great intro ride for newbies while still being a lot of fun for all.

I fixed my rear brake squeal so I won't torture you anymore either :)

Yup just needed a bit of cable lube and I adjusted the cable to be a bit looser and it's all good. Must have been too tightly wound.

First group ride ever and I had a blast. I am looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for having me alone.
