Looking at a bike...

Would like to hear from ducati and fellow KTM owners...in general are parts more expensive on ducatis or ktms?
Are they roughly the same? 🤔

Another one already? Adding to the stable or replacing one of the 2 you have?

What's the over/under on @bigpoppa replacing within a month?
It’s just the cold polish beer talking

I love KTMs, have two. Parts pricing isn't the issue, though it is European thus more than Japanese. Parts availability is attrocious. You can be waiting months on OEM parts.

Haven’t had a long wait on any of the KTM parts I’ve needed to order…

But, the most exotic were a gear shift position sensor and a stator. Both were at the dealership within 7 days. Can’t complain about that.

3 months on fork seals. 1 month on cam chain tensioner. 5 months on exhaust bracket. Orange things from the Powerparts list, one finally came in last week that i ordered in November, rear brake reservoir cap.

The price is not the issue, the availability is the issue, KMS is terrible, months waiting for parts, Ducati, usually less than 10 days. Unless it is from the Ducati performance store, then it could be months.

Curious what its like for older bmws.. 🤔
Purely hypothetical...mid 2000's...

I can't compare KTM pricing, but I got a bunch of parts for my 2002 Ducati 998 from Star Twin in the Netherlands reasonably priced (considering it's 20 years old and most places don't stock them) within 10 days. You can compare price and availability though their catalog for the bike you're considering:
