DUCATI DAY RIDE #2 (SAT. JULY 7th)

Sammy: "Flash" on his silver Multi 1100 will join up with us at Flynn's Corner Gas Station (Hwys 36 & 507) at around 10:00 AM.

Yeeha! We've got a great day ahead of us!

Perfect! Ride is still on. Only showing 40% chance of isolated showers less than 1mm. See you guys shortly.

Sorry guys....went up 407, parked at brock....saw lightening and the signs of rain up ahead in whitby...and pretty much called it.
At home (bay iew and 7) all I hear is the rustling of the trees...and the growl of thunder.
Hopefully you guys are OK today. I'll join the next one.

it was a great ride guys! it kinda sucks at the beginning with all the rain, but it turned out to be good weather!! Thanks Sam for organizing the ride, and Dan for the lead!

It was great meeting everyone yesterday, and other than the first damp part of the ride - the roads were amazing yesterday. A rainsuit is now on the top of my shopping list after getting drenched 5 mins into the rain with my mesh jacket.

Thanks to Sam for organizing the ride, Dan for running lead and providing me with one of those "Oh *****" moments when your exhaust fell off.

Mike

I want to thank everyone that attended the DDR#2. I know the cloudy morning partially killed our original list, but despite the soggy start we still had a good turnout of 12 DUCATIS ranging from Multistrada, Monsters, Streefighters, Sport Classic and SBK 1098. The weather turned for the better and nobody was left behind or hurt!

Special kudos to mutliduc dan (Dan) for taking lead with the GPS. Sorry that you lost your muffler on route, hope warranty works out for you. Mike, thanks for the footage. Bryce (high visibility), I'm glad we found you on rubber side up taking a wrong turn and not in the ditch with your feet up in the air. Mark, thanks for letting me take your bike for a rip. Now I want a bigger power plant stuffed in my frame! Adam, Don, Anthony, Dinis & Paul, you guys missed out on the 2nd part of the ride after lunch. It was wicked!

I hope you all enjoyed the route and the lunch stop. I tried to choose the twistiest way there, and I think it was pretty top notch with various elevations and cambered twists running along lakesides. What a view! We will do this route again and maybe stop at the BBQ smoke house for lunch next time.

You all were talking about DDR#3 at lunch and I'm shooting for 2nd weekend of August. Possibly Aug 11th or 12th. Stay tuned for a new posting with date & destination. I'm sure we'll have a larger group next time.

thanks again to all you for making this happen. PICS WILL BE UP SHORTLY.

Great ride Gentlemen! Coming through that rain to see those blue skies was great! Seeing the 507 bone dry when we reached it was even better!
The post lunch roads were superb!

Great meeting the new folks and great seeing the old DDR crew again!

Thanks for organizing Sammy!

Until the next one!

Maybe a DDR Pennsylvania Weekend will have to happen sometime in the future!

Wow DDR Pennsylvania?? thats a bit ambitious. lets get the local rides and group established first.

cheers.

Thanks for putting the pics up, Sam. I will wait to see Mike's video. Rubber Duc, stunting??

Yeah...LOL!! I think it was that right turn before our first stop when the sun broke thru. It was kind of loose gravel, he slid his *** end out. too much rear brake.

Sorry I missed the awesome dessert after a great lunch. Breakfast was soggy, but the company more than made up for it. What time did you guys get back to the City?

I've got the master email list and will post up a role call for any others that didn't make the list. We can post up dates and notices up here, but I think we should leave the ride details off the GTAM and get chatting through email.

It's so hard getting everybody on the same day, so we should just commit to two DDR's a month so we can all make whichever ride is best for our schedules. I petition that we set up DDR's on the First Saturday AND the Last Saturday of every month. Ride one or the other or both.

Anyone dig that idea?

Hey Don. I was back in my driveway around 6pm. It was a fairly long day, but fun. The ride after the lunch stop was literally 5mins away and you really missed out.

I'm cool with an email list, however I don't really forsee any issues with it being posted on the GTAM. Last years DDR's were all a success with really big turn outs and everything was posted here. I just figure it gives opportunity for other DUC riders to join. As for just Saturday rides, not sure if that will be a great idea as some people have jobs that require them to work Saturdays. (I say this because lots of people had PM'd me to see if we can do DDR#2 on Sunday vs. Saturday)

I will continue posting DDR's which will include dates, meeting place & times, and a general riding destination. As for route details, they will be kept confidential and only distributed by PM's or emails and I will distribute maps the morning of the rides like I did this past Saturday. Think that will work best to keep out people from crashing the ride and the po-po's waiting for us on route.

On that note. DDR#3 will be posted shortly for Sunday Aug. 12th. Like to see how much interest a Sunday ride generates. Free up your calendar.

cheers,
Sam
