Dropped Portable HD - Anyone know someone for Data recovery

You can hear it powers up and you can hear it spinning but it cant be seen on my network ever since I dropped it. The music can be replaced with a bunch of work but it more family pics and stuff I would like to have. Lesson learned!

As many have said, chances are the actual hard drive inside the case is fine. You can remove the hard drive from inside the case.
I am assuming from your description that you have a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device, it can be the networking components are damaged and the drive itself is fine. I am also downtown and can take a look, for no charge, if you like.

I'm going to be Captain Obvious and state that anything worth saving should be burned to archival-grade optical disk. I never rely on mechanical or electronic media like hard drives or flash memory.

Title says it all - I've called a few from googling it but they want a fair chunk of change. Entire music collection and family photos!

Maybe you could check with Stellar recovery services on data recovery services and software. They have a special low rate for non-urgent jobs . Their software also has a high score in Top10 reviews. See review.
