Dropped my bike today ><

No drop but I can add to the list of stupid today;

Took bike to the shop to have sliders installed and went to get the bike back during lunch, warmed it up, took my glasses off and set them down on the seat to put my helmet on. Put my gloves on, sat on the seat and drove off to a nearby wendy's to eat.

Park and stop the bike, get off and start taking my helmet off while walking towards the restaurant then go OH **** MY GLASSES!

Run back to the bike preparing to have to drive back to the shop and found them still on the seat, completely fine.

I somehow managed to sit on the bike in a way that secured my glasses without destroying them.

Right in the butt crack.

Can't do that with a flat butt :agave:

Dropped my (now almost) brand new fazer on Sunday trying to put it up on a rear stand as well. I was holding it with one hand while looking over and trying to fit the right spool onto the stand. Before I knew it, I had tipped it a little too far.

Thank heavens for the otherwise ill-fitting ebay sliders.
Awful feeling though.

Happens to everyone now and then.

I almost dropped my bike today. Pulled it in front of my truck. Went to lean it onto the stand and low and behold, I forgot to put it down. Bike got is heavy and got away from me for a split second. I saved it from falling but the left mirror pressed against the truck and snapped off. Doh.

I dropped my bike tonight and it fell and hit my car's front bumper. They are both white. My bike is used but it had NO scratches. Now it has a scratch on the rear ferring, the right mirror, and the exhaust cover. So does my car's bumper. No cracks on both. The stand is so short that it does not lean enough at an angle unlike my CBR125. When I dismounted, it quickly leaned away from me so quickly I did not even get a chance to save it. After righting it, I just stood there for several minutes staring at both in disbelief. I cannot describe how sick I felt in my stomach when I heard the crashing sound it made. :sign11:

If the stand is short, the bike will lean more. If the bike isn't leaning enough it could be because it's lowered (even if just through suspension adjustments). They sell shorter or adjustable kickstands for lowered bikes (works great if you want a bit more lean than stock even if not lowered). http://soupysperformance.com/

Don't feel bad, I dropped mine in my garage onto a ladder and but a rather large dent into the tank. Center stands are tricky after a long tiring trick.

Newbie dents: To save face tell questioners that your kid knocked the bike over while playing on it. :rolleyes:
Roll bars: A good investment for those less experienced/co-ordinated among us before the bike starts looking like a crumpled potato chip bag.
