Dont park on Alvin St ( Yonge/St clair) - tickets being handed out..

heads up.. the place that people park their bikes on Alvin st ( Yonge/St clair) is being ticketed. Saw bikes with tickets late last week. Ticket guy was there at lunchtime.
This is the parking that people use next to the phone box near the Off Street Parking. Apparently this has been a defacto bike park but I guess ticketing orificers need to make easy pickings.

You might as well start parking streetside.. and just move to another side street before 4pm?

I got ticketed there 2 weeks ago. I parked there all last summer without any problems, but all of a sudden they're cracking down.

Any other spots to park within a few blocks of there? I haven't ridden since and I sure would like to start commuting on my bike again.

I parked there once last year. That's private property, probably part of the parking lot. Property manager or owner must've been POed bikes were parking for free so he called the authorities to hand out tickets.

the day I posted that about the tickets I heard the Chinese/Asian/whatever guy in the booth talking to someone and scoffing.. "ha ha.. they wont be parking there again.. "

I have noticed bikes now parking on the walkway on the other side of that lot that comes in from Yonge Street. If I am in the area, I just now park on the roadside after 9am to 4pm. At 4pm I go home or move to a side street which has 1hr parking limits.

You can also park across the Bridge eastwards on St Clair near Mount Pleasant. Just means a 10-15min walk back to st Clair.
