Dog Lovers!!! Post your dog pic

omg so cute, is this you for real???

RockerGuy, what's the story behind that pic?

Found it on another forum.

Its dedicated to dogs who serve in the armed forces:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lggDvmoJ3QA

They have been used for centuries
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogs_in_warfare

During the war in the Pacific in WWII they were used to scout caves for enemies and in the Middle East, they are used to detect IEDs.
They are sometimes used as therapy dogs to keep soldiers company and lift their spirits

Well...my contribution to this thread. It was a long time ago. He was around 11 yrs old. I knew I would not see him again, but I spent quality time with him.

Great pics. Thanks! I always had dogs and cats growing up. Most of our cats were sorta boring but I've been lucky to have one of the rare cats that has a lot of character. Our dogs have always been Golden Retrievers.

Good stuff!

I've had a few generation of shepherds. I'll see if I can find some pics back in the day and present. I need to search on my home PC.

I love big dogs, I take them with me whenever I want to do something, running, swimming, hiking. Its fun when you've got a couple big dogs and "wanna be" thugs walk the other side of the road, lol

Toby is our 9 year old, 6 pound Yorkshire Terrier - although he thinks he is a pit bull.

He is hypoallergenic, does not shed and is litterbox trained. Yes you read that correctly! At bed time he even takes a visit to his potty box before he retires for the evening, he even goes downstairs in the middle of the night for a tinkle. (can't get much better than that).

GGRRRrrrrr....let me at that fish!

Here he is in his fall coat. He shivers at about 5 C. If I take him out in the winter he is tucked in my coat with his head sticking out. My wife got him dog booties one year and after struggling to get them on we called him for our walk. He dashed to the door leaving all 4 booties behind.

He fits into the laundry tub with ease.

Gosh you humans - I'm not a Chihuahua - I hate this hair cut!!

Toby is our guard dog. With one bark we know when people are walking across the street, and he goes crazy if someone is coming up the driveway. One night he even woke my wife in the middle of the night to drag her downstairs because we forgot to shut the sliding door. (he got extra treats the next morning).

Yes, can't wait 'till they finish the rest of the waterfront trail.

Is that what they are building on the next side of the beach? They were throwing rocks out into the lake and they had it fenced around, lol. I couldn't help but check it out. Looks pretty neat!

Not to hijack the OP's thread - the rocks are part of the breakwater that is being built for the extension on the Waterfront Trail http://www.waterfronttrail.org/trail.html.

It is a great place to walk the dog. (great dogs btw).

This shot is looking east towards Pickering from past the fenced area. The plan is to pave this dirt road and eventually meet up with Port Union Commons. The eventual plan is to circle all of Lake Ontario with a trail. I sometimes wonder how governments have the money for such projects when there are hungry unemployed people living in Canada.

Just finished the first week out on the road with my new co-pilot, "Diesel". He's a Pug/Boston Terrier mix that was rescued from a local puppy mill with a bad eye infection and other problems, then nursed back to health before being put up for adoption. He still has some issues to work through (he is very scared of people), but has quickly adapted to his new life with me...

Thanks!

I didn't know it was such a large project. I really don't mind though, I think it will keep people healthy in the long run.
