Does anyone here own a KTM 790 Adventure?

The 790 Adventure R does start with the clutch pulled in. It is a cable clutch though, not hydraulic like the 1290. I'm gonna question the state of his clutch cable and adjustment. Hey, not saying this doesn't happen, but when with the list of stuff wrong, I'm gonna err on the side of user 'damage'.

editted my above post. The 790 Adventure R did have a few lose bolts that weren't caught in PDI. PDI vs factory lose bolts, hard to say responsibility.

Agree Aens. In fact I would go so far as to say he's probably a BMW plant, there to deride the KTM brand out of jealousy. You just can't trust anything you see on the internet these days.

Not what I'm saying at all. I've watched a lot of the videos when Bret first got his 790 and had nothing but awesome things to say about the bike. I'm just saying, the kind of riding he does, its hard to say if its damage or defect on some of the listed things. The rear brake caliper mounts breaking like that is an eye opener for sure.

Example of his content

I think I got about 23,000 kms on my 790 adventure, but 90% of my mileage was pavement, the other 10% was gravel and easy dirt.. Only problem I have is, occasionally it will take 2 or 3 tries to start when the engine is cold. It's been doing that since new and is a known problem with these bikes. Some people fixed it by installing a booster plug but I didn't bother.

To give an idea of the type of riding the guy in the orignal video does, here's Brett Tkacs, the same guy, aboard the same 790 in the woods.

The damage isn't that bad then.

That is why every KTM comes with a free dog... so you never have to walk home alone ....??

I hate when people do the "That's nothing, check this guy out!"

But that's nowhere near what that bike is capable of.

Here's one of our local guys ripping up some of the trails in our area on his 790 Adventure R.

I've ridden with these guys before. Pretty insane what they can do on big bikes, 1190 Adventures, etc.

I like that the thumbnail is the bike taking a nap because it is tired.

 I name my bikes, I would name that one Heart Attack.

Yeah, that's the 701 guy. He wasn't as Olympic as the 790 rider.
About 790 "I think he has plans to adjust the suspension." I would hope so. Landing on your nose everytime you jump (which is often) will eventually end in tears. Miles more talent than me for sure.

ready to race....they mean that ****

Srsly.

I challenge anyone to find a better single-track 790 video.

Because then I will update my #goals bookmark.
The channel Every Single Sunday has some good ones with a 790.

All those guys are far more skilled than me that's for sure.

Pretty gnarly terrain.

But it would be more epic if he actually rode the bike through it, instead of pushing it...

#goals bookmarks unchanged! :ROFLMAO:
That's why I would have to name it Heart Attack
