I tend to pass aggressively, and drive relaxed.

In the situation you mentioned I would tend to have a lot of patience, as the cautious person, won't learn when to go, and might accidentally kill you. Unless I have to pee.

While on a motorcycle if you look around you at pretty much any red light you will see one or multiple on their phone. If their window is down it's fun to put your visor up, get a little closer to them and scream at the top of your lungs GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!. tends to make them jump in their seat.

Yeah, don't do that.. impersonating a police offer is actually a pretty nasty charge.

Anyhow, on the topic...just saw this over at Reddit. Timely. Had this guy just ignored it, changed lanes, separated himself from the situation, and continued on instead of instigating things by blowing his horn, he probably wouldn't have gone down.

We have to tolerate bad drivers and I don't expect things to improve. Anger shuts down the thinking process so learn to shut it out.

Develop a routine head clearing process when something gets to you. Check your gauges, seating position, mirrors, helmet strap.

I'm for riding assertively not agressively.

Never got aggressive on the road, not suicidal... but in my younger days I followed a few people to their homes/destination and had "words".

I ride the same as @Baggsy described - I pass aggressively, but ride relaxed and chill.
You just came off as pretty mad, and I get it. We all get mad sometimes on the road, it's that managing those emotions will guide your actions going forward. I'm also a firm believer the term "cagers" is cringey af. Do you not have a car? I think most of us have cars.

Under most circumstances, riding or driving will encounter idiots in cages etc.

My mind when riding is for the joy of riding. Patience is the best approach and a sense of humour to laugh at their stupidity.

Karma will take care of things eventually. Typically don’t get to witness it when it happens but, the odd occasion you might get to see it.

Yes, there have been a few butt pucker moments that got the adrenaline going but the days of teaching them a lesson or losing my lunch are long gone. If I can pull ahead and out of harms way or slow down and keep the hazard where I can see it until I decide on my next turn, that’s my plan.

Actually no i don't own a car, I just sold my Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually 4*4 Quad Cab Laramie and have no intentions of buying another vehicle
I have always driven my motorcycles, all year round, except for stupid conditions where i'd be asking for trouble. I now rent if i need 4 wheels and for the purpose of cargo, fun, family or other misadventures, the wife does have a car and i do not consider all people who drive cars and or trucks cagers as i have described in previous posts. I also ride a bicycle as close as safely possible to shoulder and appreciate the nice people that give me space. Here again you have your issues. Oh well.

When I just started riding, I had a few incidents where I said some things to drivers (nothing belligerent, but I made comments), and two of those times the other person tried to run me off the road and into parked cars or opposite traffic. Both times pickups, but that's besides the point.

I remember one time I was going up Bathurst in the right lane, and a car pulled into me from the left lane and almost pushed me into the curb (I was about two inches from the car on the left, and two inches from the curb on the right with my front wheel). I got away by gunning it, but afterwards I slowed down next to the driver to give him a piece of my mind. I looked into the driver side window and saw it was just a guy in a Domino's suit who looked kinda frightened. I quickly realized by the look in his eyes that he didn't mean it, and just plainly didn't see me. It happens. I made the calculation in my head that being angry would neither improve my day, or his, so I kept driving.

Ever since that incident (it actually had a huge effect on my worldview in a way), I came to the conclusion that if what I say or do doesn't improve my day, or someone else's, then it's plainly not worth saying or doing. I'm not perfect and I don't always stick to it, but whenever I encounter crazy stuff on the road, I remind myself of that fact - raging will both make me feel like a bad person, and possible get me killed, while also likely doing nothing to solve the problem of the bad driver.

If you have nothing good to say, its often easiest (and safest) to keep your mouth shut
