Do you park at York University?

There are a few faculty members (848/Daytona 675 + Harley guy) who very often park there. My prediction is that, as long as we have them in the same boat as us, they won't dare try enforcing something stupid.

I'm not looking forward to the day they take off tho.

Also, pretty sure that the parking sign is for cars on the road.

Don't they issue motorcycle parking permit stickers & have designated spots at York anymore?
I went there '81-'84 and bought my little sticker every year.

Half of the buildings on campus weren't even there 30 years ago. There are technically motorcycle parking spots, but they cost just as much as a regular spot. Take a look and you'll understand why people are choosing NOT to buy the permits.

There were motorcycle parking lines between Tel and Seneca but the lines were erased (from what I remember) 2 years ago when cars started parking there.

FWIW, I work at York U for Parking as a matter of fact but I am not one of the people who write tickets so don't pounce on me. I just fix things. You guys are still safe at Seneca for now, as far as I know. we can't write tickets as technically it is Seneca's property. We don't do anything on their property, we don't shovel snow, cut grass, provide security etc so I guess the same goes for Parking on their property.

Regarding Motorcycle permits. If you have a permit for your car then you can add on the bike for like $1 or something. I did it when I first started here and was still riding on the street. I don't even drive here anymore, take transit. Cheaper than driving and paying to park, less stress too. haha. Yes I have to pay to park too and I work for Parking, so next time anyone wants to ***** at the staff about how much it costs to park, we are all in the same boat. No discounts for us either, same price you guys all pay. :-(

lol it has been very full recenlty. I had to shove my bike at the far left end, close to the door, and ride on the grass a few times (if I come after 10AM).

PLau, we should meet up, I'm in BSD and work at CDOT. Try to get a job there, we need more riders...I'm the only one. There's a few who want to ride, but well...they're textbook nerds and some are just too scared. Look for the GS500F (used to be 3, I think I'm the only one now).

EDIT: Too much work, made no sense.

Good to know. I was wondering why all those ppl were paying for motorcycle parking at York. Now it all makes sense =)

There's always that one cruiser parked on Seneca property, but closer towards the Center for Fine Arts.. Never gets ticketed even when parked on top of the NO PARKING painted on the ground. 90% sure its a staff member. I foresee people starting to park along there if space becomes an issue around the usual spot

Is it true even if you are handicapped and have an Ontario handicap permit in your car, York doesn't care and you still need to pay? (Ie it's free in city of toronto parking as far as I know, just like bikes)

I think this is true of most private parking, handicap spots are not free.
