Do you fill up at gas station or jerry can?

I get off of the bike to fill up - for two reasons:

1) my bike fills better when on the centre stand, and
2) in the unlikely even that I spill gas, I don't want a flammable, carcinogenic mess all over my lap.

How does putting the bike on centre stand make your bike fill better then sitting on it? Seems like its the same thing except your legs are keeping it upright rather then the stand.

I never get off my bike and I never spill. Its not a hard thing to do, let it drip then turn upwards as someone else mentioned. Then cup my hands under the nozzle if anymore drips drip. Replaced nozzle, clean tank, full tank, happy tank.

Its not rocket science.

So I am trying not to look into this thread, because I know there's nothing interesting to see. I fail, I look ..... 4 pages how to fill a gas tank. Really?? How did people fill tanks before Internet???

I agree - not difficult. The tank sits much more level when the bike is on the centre stand, and so I can get the tank that much more full than when it's on the kick stand.

I have no desire to let gasoline drip on my hands (with gloves or without). To each their own.
